Did someone say ".45-70"?...what caliber is it? 45-70?
So, I Googled 416 Rem.me said:Sorensen, I agree: good trade. Worth more than a cutlass any day
(don't know anything at all about the 416 Rem (never even heard of it), but ... )
Yeah, good trade.Posted by jklingel on Jan 22 2005
The 416 Rem may be a good compromise for you, in between the 375 and 458. It pushes some fairly big rounds fairly flat. (I UNDERSTAND that it kicks far less than the 416 Rigby, and if that is true I do not want to ever shoot a Rigby!) My 416 Rem pushed me 2' before I got it ported; now it only pushes me 1.5', and feels like a 375. My shooting partner said the same when we switched guns. He would not shoot the 416 unported, though he is 75 pounds heavier than me. From what I hear and read, a 375 H&H is fantastic, too. Food for mulling over. j
I understand. I don't need one either, at least now. Even if I go to Alaska, I could probably get by with my 12 ga and slugs for protection from large brown predators with sharp claws and teeth.Looks like we are about on the same wavelength Nematocyst-870. My next gun looks to be a 45-70. I don't know why. I don't NEED one, but the big fella just casts a spell over me.
I notice you have listed a Keltec SU16. How long have you had it? What do you think?
OK, I'm pretty much done with work for the day.
Just thought I'd read a bit before sleep.
Found myself curious about 416 Rem.
