Good start on the collection. Now you need to find a Levergun silhouette match and tip over some steel critters with all of em. You'll have to learn to shoot with a grin on your face but that is a good problem...
00 336W Need to figure out if I'm going to change this one up or leave it in the safe for "safe keeping"
Now I'm playing the waiting game on a Marlin 1895G NIB comming from a guy in AL. Might scout scope that one as well. But I'm leaning towards some peep sights.
I posted this old girl couple years ago. Just remembered this thread and wanted to tell you all she burned up when my house went up in flames feb 2008 from electrical fire. Some other guns I lost:
auto ord. 45 acp
handi rifle 22 hornet
marlin 1894 44 mag
kel-tec 9mm
marlin 22 mag
colt frontier 22 revolver
colt new frontier 22 revolver
Ruger mk2 22 semi auto
savage model 40 22 hornet (not even 2 weeks old)
Itahca 22lr lever action
2 bear recurves and 1 bear compound bow
all my kids photos ( this was the worst loss)
Anyhow, You all have some beautys here. I am slowly rebuilding my gun collection and have about all I need back but still no lever gun. Soon.
i just love the marlin rifles , i have one. a .35 rem, just love it...only thing i did was get the kit, and throw that stupids hammer block safety in the lake....[i just hate those things]....
I use Remington cor-lokt in mine with great results... I also reload my own also using either Speer or Sierra pills (150 & 170 grainers)... both also work great...
OK y'all... silly question... I have a Marlin 336C pre-cross bolt safety model... How much more sought after are these than the crossbolt safety variants??? Mine is a 30-30 Win
Any non crossbolt safety model should be sent to someone qualified to handle them. I just so happen to have received my NRA qualification in pre-crossbolt safety Marlin handing.
send it on over and I'll be sure it gets a good home.
It isn't that the precrossbolt safety(pre 1984 i think) is more sought after and draws more money. Some claim that the safety can be bumped during handling and leave you with the second loudest noise a gun can make. Click when it should have gone bang.
Three ways to avoid this. CBS delete kit, rubber O ring, or just leave it alone.
Hi Mo, Since you are online , I have a quick question. Just bought a 336A and I find that the trigger moves freely front to back. It doesn't flop around but I can easily move it front back. Is this normal?
