Ruger P95

Some 25+ pistol later that one still remains in the safe.

I've shot the snot out of it w/o any problems what so ever. Great gun, I can't see my self selling it off, simply because she was my first and I still love her ;)

my first

Taurus model 85 .38 spl snubbie ... still have it, it's my car gun as of Friday, new nightstand gun on order, a Springfield 4-inch 911 ... my carry gun, a Kahr PM-9, is keeping the nightstand warm until the new gun arrives this week. My Taurus has been 100 percent reliable in the 7 years I've owned it .. my wife got me a set of beautiful Hogue wooden grips ...

ruger 22, read to much "Sgt. Rock" comic books and HAD to have the german luger, I'm getting red in the face from pure embarassement at my ignorance-but those are still the coolest handguns ever. First revolver was the ruger 22 convertible- dad found one for the pricey sum of $85 with both cylinders, it shot a TON of mice with ratshot.

My first pistol was a Ruger P89 that I picked up fro 359 from Academy. Many people seem to really dislike this gun, but it's built like a tank, won't jam on anything, and accuracy isn't all that bad once you take the time to get used to the trigger.

Being that it was my first handgun, I had no choice but to get used to the long trigger pull so I guess that helped somewhat...

First Pistol I got was a Taurus 945 from my dad when I talked to him about wanting to get a 9mm pistol. Dad told me that in his collection of several handguns and there was a 9mm in it he had never even shot! And I could have it! :D

So I went to check out dad's collection and found that he didn't have a 9mm. It was a 45. :scrutiny: Not that I turned him down on the offer but it was a little more gun than I wanted to start with.

Not long afterwards I found an old AMT mark I .22 that I made the mistake of buying for a practice piece. After a while of trying to learn how to shoot with that POS I traded up to a Buckmark. Much better.

Collection is still growing, but I still like my Taurus.

Mine was...

a Ruger Mark II .22 autoloader. Bought it whe I was 15, (1969) after mowing lawns all summer to buy it!

My first pistol was a Rem-UMC 1911 that I bought for $35 (with my own money) in 1970 when I was 15. I actually bought it from the guy at the gun show, but my Dad was standing a few feet away nodding his approval.

The day after after I turned 21 (which made it 29 ago years this past Monday) I bought a brand new COlt MkIV Series 70 Government model for just a little under $200 at Allied Sporting Goods... IN THE MALL!

Are there any mall stores that sell guns anymore?

Gads!! I can't believe I've missed this all these years!!

My first pistol.
It depends on what I consider as "mine".
The very first was a Ruger Blackhawk, .357mag that I bought for my ex-wife. I had to leave it with her when the divorce hit!! The first pistol that I consider was all mine was a Baikal IJ70-17A (.380 Makarov). Heck!! I don't even remember exactly when I got it!! I do remember that I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of a "C" note for it.
I still have it and do carry it on occasion!!!

Springfield Armory Mil-Spec in .45 w/ 5" barrel.
Put about 800 rounds through it and will never trade it, no matter how dire the money situtation is.

I feel sorry for those who have loved and lost their first. But I hope it shows everyone else who still has and enjoys their first, the importance of not trading it or selling it, no matter the circumstance.

.44 Ruger Super Blackhawk. It was cheap and reliable and made a helluva bang :D

Used Smith & Wesson Model 18-4 .22lr 4" revolver. Wanted a simple manual of arms and a cheap caliber to practice on. I still shoot this handgun more accurately than all my others.

A 9mmP S&W 39-2, nickel plated, with issue wooden grips. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Actually, was pretty reliable and accurate, but single stack.

My first gun was a Glock 22c.

Then I had a baby and my wife thought I didnt need any guns.....so I sold my collection (around 9 or so guns).

Begging of this year I grew my balls back  and bought my second "first" gun. A Kimber Pro Carry II.......Im almost back up to my 9 guns.

SIG P226 9mm

Over a period of 2 years (before I turned 21) I tried out as many high-end "combat" pistols as I could. I settled on the SIG because of its reputation, ease of use, inherent accuracy, etc. I will never sell this pistol.

This is the first gun I ever bought myself. A Ruger MKII Government Target Competition Model

First handgun

1975 - Just out of the Navy. A Ruger Securiy-Six 2-3/4" barrel blued with walnut grips.$158.95 Never should have let it go. It was quickly followed by a Mk.1 .22. Again never should have let it go.
