Lets see those rough and tumble guns you carry in your truck (or car)!

ill have too get my python and winchester 94 30/30 and my remington 740, and my springfeild training .22 single shot. All these guns have seen numerous hours and days in my truck ;)

Why did you ask this question? this post might just get shut down, everyone just says "oh I lost all my guns in a boat accident.....

How do you keep a gun in your car? wouldnt it rust? the heat of summer set off rounds at 120f+ ?

How do you keep a gun in your car?

Right behind the back seat, I lock my doors when I'm not in it, so it cant get out.

wouldnt it rust?

Nope, an initial application of a decent rust preventative, along with the occasional wipe-down prevents it.

the heat of summer set off rounds at 120f+
No, it wont get hot enough to set the ammo off. If I recall correctly it has to be over at least 3-400 degrees F for a primer to self ignite.

And last but not least, my truck gun is an M-44 Carbine.

my truck gun was a taurus 669 .357 until I nearly wrecked my hearing trying to dispatch the local skunk from about 100yds.
Now my truck gun is a Ruger MKll .22 auto. Also tucked in the pistol hardcase is a compass, flashlite, folding knife, holster, 3 magazines, 100rds ammo, and a lighter.

Florida must have *much* smoother roads than we do.

But, my truck spends so little time ON roads - kind of a moot point....

Harvey

I wouldn't advise it bro. I have used magnets to hold several knives in position and it magnetized them BAD....... JMO

The Dove

Yeah, the magnetic mounts seem cool but I think a decent bump could cause your weapon to fall on your head...

Although I own a 4x4 pickup, I don't have a "truck gun." When I go up to the mountains or into the forests, or out in the high desert, I carry a gun or two, but I never leave them in the truck.

Best way in the world to lose a gun, in my experience. I know a number of people, including my uncle, who left guns in trucks and came back to find them stolen.

So .... my guns go with me.
