No, and I probably never will. I'm an urban type.

I MIGHT conceivably end up with an SUV if I ever get more into rock climbing and outdoors stuff in general, but that's about it.

used to have a ranger in college. Then came kids so I got an AWD CR-V. It's not a muddin truck but will get me to some places off the beaten path because it is so light. I have 160k miles on it now and has never had one problem. I also have a Chevy Tahoe loaded. I love that TRUCK!:neener:

nope. sorry to break it to ya man. most of the full sized had the removable top. i forget exactly what year they stopped that though. im thinkin 90. but i know for sure 94-96s dont come off. not without a sawzall at least.

Checked it this morning... it does appear that it comes off from looking at closely. It has the similar bolts/screws that held down my old 79's top- has some trim panels that kinda obscure it though. I will find out in a couple of months if it truly does in a few months when it gets warmer:D

I voted "no", due to a technicality. I owned a compact pick-up through college. But, I didn't own any firearms.

At the time I bought my first firearm, you'd find me in either my compact, four-door hatchback or my wife's minivan.

Yes,I drive a dodge 4x4 slt crewcab and yes sometimes i have a 45-70 behind the back seat and a hog iron strapped to my thigh. The only way to make it better for me is to get bigger tires and bigger guns.

Toyota Tundra

I have owned several trucks:

1981 Ford F150
1989 Chevy S10
1995 Ford Ranger
2003 Toyota Tundra (still have it).

Yes i drive a pickup, but this is b/c i find them to be so useful for OTHER things than anything to do with firearms and transporting them, and i would probably have the truck regardless of whether i was a gun-owner or not.

In fact the ONLY reason i still have my F-150 and will wind up replacing it with something like a Ranger whenteh time comes, is b/c if i didn't, about ever 2-3 months i'd be wishing for one to do some chore or moving of materials for a project my wife or myself are doing (couches, full sheets of plywood, and the like don't fit to well in a smaller SUV). otherwise i'd probably be looking at something like a Jeep wrangler or the Toyota FJ cruiser for my next vehicle.

A VW bus... because it really freaks people out to know a member of the anti-Hillary vast right wing conspiracy drives a "hippy van". And because it's simple, reliable, and very utilitarian. It goes everywhere, just like a baja bug because of the rear wheel drive/ rear engine arrangement and very high ground clearance. Spare parts are still cheap and I can enough to do almost anything on the side of the road if necessary. I have adjustment screws not a computer so no stinking EMP issues either! :) Kids LOVE camping in it and it has two queen sized beds. Gets around 22mpg. It's rigged for "SHTF" from the factory. Since it's a one ton vehicle, I guess it is a truck, but no redneck other than me would agree.

Second choice would proabably be a Toyo truck or Subaru wagon.

I used to own a '95 Chevy C1500 Silverado reg cab long bed 350 V8. Tri tone (silver on top, then dark metalic blue, then silver around the bottom.) My parents bought it for me while I was in college when it was 3 years old with 55k mi on Xmas eve '98. I helped out of course, but I think they paid for close to 2/3 of it.

Gorgeous truck, and it really came in handy when I was moving back and forth between home and school. Helped a lot of friends move too! Lots of great tailgate memories at college football games. She was generally trouble free and ran great. It ate it's trans at 65k, but I never blamed the truck as I later found out that it had spent it's life with it's prior owner pulling around a 14,000 lb horse trailer :what:  . A little beyond its limits, to say the least.

I still miss that truck. After I got married and settled down, it didn't do much hauling duty, other than lugging around 40 gallons of gas that it would burn through at the rate of 13 mpg :cuss: ... always said it'd out run everything but a gas pump. My wife hated it because it was "too big". She always managed somehow to take up 4 or 5 parking spaces with it :D .

In '03 with 120k I traded it for a new '03 Mazda Protege5 and now I average 31 mpg!

To keep this gun related, my 686+ 4" fits like a glove in my MP5's glovebox, they were made for each other!!!

I might be an oddball of sorts. I have and usually drive an '05 F250 4x4 diesel. It's a cool truck with the Hypertech programmer. Hate it without it. But, I also drive (when nice outside) a Porsche 911. It has the most discreet door pocket ever made...perfect for the pistol when off limits due to laws. In fact, it took me several months to find it and it was by mistake.

Had my first truck when I was 16. Haven't been without one since. Just bought an '07 Chevy Silverado 4x4 crew cab.

guns and vehicles

Dodge Ram 1500. i would've thought the numbers would be heavier on the truck-owning side.....

a little off-topic but another relationship i've found in general with the firearms community is the connection between shooters and motorcyclists and also to a lesser extent, pilots. but that's probably because there are fewer of them.

Nope, I drive a POS '96 Ford Taurus at the moment.

Not saying that they are all POS's, but mine is a POS. I can smell it now... :barf:

I hope she didn't hear me. I need her for in the morning.
