Truck gun pictures!!!

Best way in the world to lose a gun, in my experience. I know a number of people, including my uncle, who left guns in trucks and came back to find them stolen.

That's why a truck gun needs to be expendable. Not that anyone wants to have a gun stolen...
If you keep it legally stashed in the truck/car, and it gets stolen...that's a crime against you and not your fault. I have mixed feelings about "truck guns" also, and would feel guilty if my weapon fell into the wrong hands, and was used in a crime. However, it is my right to have one. There is no difference (in my mind) whether it is stolen from my truck, or out of my safe.

Am I right??

I carry a S&W Model-60 in my truck all the time. Keep it in an Uncle Mikes holster in my front pocket. If I'm feeling spooked, I might stash it Mexican style on the left side.

Truck guns CAN come in the house with you. They don't have to stay in the truck.I couldn't sleep at night knowing my weapon, what ever it may be or however bad it is, is outside alone and cold.

After reading the posts I remembered I left my two rifles locked in a case, locked in my car from the range (safe neighborhood). They're in now. Thanks guys.

I too am leary of the 'big magnet'

#1 you might magnetize part of your gun, then how all the internal parts interact together could get screwed up

#2 I've worked with the powerful magnets used to carry sheets of steel by hand. They are rated 600 lbs, but that just means if hold them steady and slowly add more weight 600 is the max, but jerking and tossing, they can only hold about 100 lbs.

#3 those same magnets...they SLIDE OFF pretty easy. I got to think the risk isn't the gun being pulled straight back, but the gradual vibration (or even a sudden stop) causing the gun to slide forward or sideways and slide off the magnet

My road trip gun. It doesn't live in the car or truck, but if I'm leaving town it is discreetly stashed in the vehicle, along with the ubiquitous J-frame carried on body.

CZ-40B, purchased for $260 NIB, yet one of my most reliable automatic handguns.
