mANY MANY MOONS AGO WHEN I FIRST GOT ON THE INTERNET. I JOINED SOMETHING AND I NEEDED A USER NAME. I TRIED MY NAME BUT OF COURSE IT WAS TAKEN. SO I KEPT TYPING DIFFERENT NAMES AND THEY WERE ALL TAKEN. THEN I LOOKED OVER AT OUR CAT. THEN I TYPED IT IN. SO NOW YOU KNOW I HAD A CAT NAMED SCRAT. I HAVE BEEN USING IT EVER SINCE.

J&J - John (me) & Jonah (my soon to be 14 year old son) and partner in nearly every "crime" I commit these days... Jeeps, camping, mountainbiking, shooting...the list goes on...

John

le chiffre - french for "the cipher" seemed to me like a cool nom de internet.

goldfinger was already taken.

Because in a previous life I had a drinking problem and threw up a lot. Seriously.

I named mine after my job, too. I design and build custom furniture and restore antique furniture. I've lately gotten into firearm furniture repair and restoration. Sometimes, though, the term "restoration" can be misleading in that implies you restore an object to a previously desirable state. I--er--ah--have been known to take restoration too far, all the way back to it's component molecules...

Mine is a neighborhood nickname. My name is Ronald and I'm a pretty dapper guy(or so I think) like James Bond, but the D got lost in translation, so now I'm Bon...Ron-Bon

I am an Awesome Husband and a Father Of 3. My wife agrees, and I just recounted my kids...yep, three:)

This is a play on my real name... pretty easy to guess if you look at it.

Mine is a randomly generated name of a character from the computer game Knights of the Old Republic. I liked it, so I use it.

When I was signing up for xbox live I pressed the random name button and it suggested Sourish Unicorn... wt?!?!? I had to take it.

US Coast Guard sailor, fun sail boat sailor, racing sail boat sailor, cruising sail boat sailor, commercial fishing boat sailor - since "sailor" is usually already taken, I guess I'm a "sailortoo". And now I live in the desert southwest - go figure (love it here, tho)! :)
sailortoo

all the ones i wanted were taken and i had a brain lapse.. i was doing some geology research at the time so this popped in my head.

i wish i could change it for it means absolutely nothing to me...

I ride dirt bikes.... they throw up a 'roost'.... I ride above that roost.... making me a RoostRider...

Not nearly as bizarre as people tend to think up on their own... but it's the truth....

i chose mine because i tend towards proven firearm designs. both combat/battle proven, and designs that have withstood the test of time.

mooose102, moose came from my dad's nickname for me. the 4 o's came because there are so many moose's on the internet. the 102 is just another way to differentiate between the "mooses". nothing to technical or exciting here. just like me! lol.

It's my real life first name.

I'll also respond to "moderator jerk," "goose-stepping mod fascist," and "threadlocking moron."

Justin,

That there is funny.

:D

Someone else thought Fred West's name should win, but Justin's answer has to be the best so far.

Having served time in the Corps I wanted a user name to reflect it, but the usual names: Devildog, Leatherneck, JarHead are always taken. So with a little play on Devil Dog and the Marine Corps amphibious background I came up with Devilfrog.
Though I've been asked if has something to do with satanic frog worship :banghead: yeah, not so much!
