What have you done in the reloading room today

......I finally did a couple things this morning.....

Nice!

Here's where I charge cases. A similar setup, but I seat across the room on the reloading bench.

Finished cleaning my A303, then deprimed the brass from today's "Birthday shoot" for my brother in law. The 30 or so .300 blackout subs from my progressive that we shot all ran great. Man size steel was no problem at 100 yards! Also found out that factory 110 TAC-TX's run right at 2080fps from my short little 8.3" barrel, which is better than expected. I think the plated Campro 240gr/HP38 load in my Super Redhawk was a big hit, everyone seemed to enjoy shooting it! I also loaded up the bullet and case feeder in preparation to do another batch of .300 BO subs.

Are those cans newly manufactured in red, or are they surplus painted over?
Just getting into 10mm.
Ordered these RNFP 180 grain bullets from Extreme on sale.
2 cents off each bullet, 500 in a cardboard box, in an ammo can,1000 bullets gets ya two cans.
Bullets come in a cardboard box inside of the ammo cans apparently made for Extreme.
Their logo is embossed on one side of the box.
So they are defiantly manufactured for Extreme.
Everyone likes ammo cans for storage! Don't they? (Well, most everybody...)

To keep this topic related, all did today after getting home from our remote camp was to sort out the range brass that I picked, washed and dried last week.

No range today. Gout won't cooperate.

Hobbled back to room, resized a dozen coated Acme 230gr RN to .451" from original .452".

Yesterday had pulled them (w/hammer) because they won't chamber in my finicky pistols. Long story, told long ago, but am slowly but surely eating an elephant a dozen bites at a time.

At some future date will reuse bullets, cases, and powder. But not today.

Hobbled back and wrote this.

Went ahead and loaded up 100 .308 for the Savage 99 lever-gun. PPU brass with 25grn H4198, and used up the last of the RimRock 170grn FP cast bullets... 75. Loaded the other 25 cases with those wonderful Montana Cast 173grn FP/GC bullets that I had sized at .310" Since I'm down to just one rifle that takes cast .308 rounds, I'll just stick with the very good, albiet a bit spendy, Montana GC bullet. The Savage loves them... what's not to like. That load is good for 1900fps from the 22" Savage 99F.

Also started loading some of the RP .308 brass for the Savage 10TAC. My brother is coming up from Corpus in a few weeks, and I want to take him shooting. He's considering a bolt rifle for hunting, and he's boiled it down to the 6.5CM. Just to give him a little taste, I'll let him shoot my Savage, and I borrowed a friends Savage 10 in an Oryx chassis... in 6.5CM. I'll let him shoot them side by side just to give him an idea of what he's looking at. Like me, until I bought my 10TAC, he's never really sat down and worked through a good bolt n' scope combo. He wants to go hunting with his buddies, which is fine... but he needs to put in some trigger time, first.

One of the ladders I worked up with the 168grn Nosler CC and TAC showed some promise... 42.6grn TAC and the NCC seated at 2.800", in RP brass. I don't know if it was an anomaly, or I actually hit the node, but not surprising, the velocity was very close to FGMM our of the 24" Savage... about 2710fps. I've got about 175 NCC's left, I'll load those up for my brother.

Just coincidence I am working on building my first ladder for the nosler 168 cc. I got over 1k of them "thanks dad" and 9lb of aa4064. Let's hope they are a match made in heaven 🙏.... if tac is the key to getting them to shoot that's also fine.

My NCC's are a big lot of 2nds I bought years ago... this is the last of them. I actually like the NCC, it's a good bullet, but not as good as the SMK. I would be surprised if you couldn't get a good load with them and AA4064... I can work up a map for you to get it to 2650-2700fps, which I think would put you in a good node. What's your barrel length? ...and, if you have it, your water volume in grains on the cases you are using.

Sorry to hear that. I have v degenerative arthritis. My joints are slowly dissolving. It hurts. Colchicine is my best friend. 😁
Hang in there buddy.

Baked up my first batch of 168 nosler cc with accurate 4064 in Norma brass with rem lrp. I have a bunch of this combination so I hope to find a winner. The brass was not fire formed to my rifle so I got a large variation in seating depth and amount of crunch. 45.4 was the top charge and it was plenty crunchy. May redo the same test again if I don't get reasonable results. I will also use this opertunity to volume check the cases as I don't have Norma data yet. 17071682289158879096463860319247.jpg

Dug out some .45ACP brass Sunday and loaded up 200 rds. with Sierra 185 gr. JHP bullets. Mild 775 FPS loads that are very accurate and nice to shoot. My last two boxes of these Sierra 185's and they had $6 price tags on them! I'll be switching to some old Speer next time, and then to cast lead SWC 200gr. after the Speer are gone.

Two loads were about 4000 cases.
Just how big is your tumbler? WOW!

I had a GREAT DAY!
Finally making ammo.

Made these 20 rounds and took them to the range this morning.
New *-* brass, Winchester LPP touching off a charge of Power Pistol launching an Extreme 180 grain RNFP.
All worked fine.
This afternoon I made 180 more.

So happy to be making ammo in my "Little Space"! ;)

Ran 100 .300 blackout subs on the six pack pro. Once I figured out my "cycle speed" so it didn't fling the bullet when indexing, it sure went quick! My bullet feeder die came back from Lee today, so I think tomorrow I'll set the six pack back up for .223.
