Typically, whatever I have out of the safe as a retirement CCW for the day/night. Yesterday (also last night) and today that's one of my M&P 340's, presently loaded with Winchester 145gr STHP .357MAG.

However, hearing a 'strange sound' doesn't mean I'm automatically going to grab a gun.

None, I don’t have a special gun or special ammunition with intent to do extra harm to anyone. I think it’s a mistake and could be used against me as I was looking to kill and planned it out and waited for the opportunity to carry out the plan.
Todays Justice system isn’t designed to protect my rights rather the opposite.

Sad times.

i just replaced a five-shot rossi j-frame revolver on home duty with a six-shot taurus 856 because i wanted the extra round and the rossi was getting old. both are loaded with 38sp wadcutters with two fmj ball ammo speedloaders on tap. revolver because i’m practiced with it and no need to worry about mechanics of employing it under stress. fmj ball ammo reloads because i can guide this ammo more reliably into the chambers from a speedloader in the dark by touch alone.

3" Python on the hip as I type, @Midnight, handloaded Remington 140gr SJHP, sweet weight spot for the .357mag IMO. :)
On the night stand, I'm in the process of comparing night sights;
  • G 17.3 Tru Glo TFX Pro, 147gr Ranger T
  • G 19X, Glock night sight designed for the 19X, Ranger T 127gr +P+
  • Sig 365XL, Sig X-ray night sights, Ranger T 147gr

PWS Mk114 loaded with 77gr Black Hills is my main rig, but if I'm closer to it when the door gets kicked in I'll grab the PWS Mk116 in .300 Blackout loaded with 115gr Underwood Controlled Chaos ammo.

Currently what I have out is Glock 43 with 115gr Hornady Handgun Hunter. Usually it is a Glock 40 10mm with 200gr XTP.

When I lived in the hood it was a Mossberg 590 with 24 pellet #1 buck, with one in the chamber.

.223 because I prefer a weapon that I can shoulder in a situation where I might be under stress. Also, I don't have optics on any of my handguns and I do have a red dot on my rifle.
.38 Special because I like the gun that shoots it, if I can't use or don't need my rifle. .38 Special +P low-flash JHP in 110gr flavor.
