My favorite carry gun right now is a GP100, 4" fixed sight stainless, but with the large grip. I also have a square butt S&W Model 36 no dash in a pocket. The GP has a liquid smooth 7-1/2 # DA trigger, is accurate, and the .357 will take the fight out of anybody. I don't have any trouble concealing it in a Kirkpatrick OWB holster, regardless of whether it's 5 or 105 outside.
Sometimes, I'll carry a S&W Model 22 with Eagle Classic grips. I usually compete in USPSA and ICORE with a 625, and really like .45 moonclip guns. Once in awhile, I'll carry a 325PD. I've even carried one of my 1911s, but they are mostly just for fun.
I just have lots of confidence in a .357, and shoot revolvers better than anything else. The GP may not be as sexy as some other guns, but it is very comforting, and I have no doubt that I can rely on it.
