home defense

Since I don't like confrontation and going out to see what's there seems foolhardy to me I'm the one in the dark waiting with a machete. During a daylight home invasion, like the rest of you I keep a Judge filled with 6 ball buckshot just in case my worst fears ever did come true.

Whatever I have carried the day before is in the room.

And a Winchester Model 12 Riot, CYL bore with buckshot (rural setting, no kids at home).

Good motion lights outside, a good flashlight, a couple of dogs inside and my wife has her revolver as well.

Alarm system, two dogs, and i have a suppressed g19 w/surefire x200 and the wife has HK P2000 in her nightstand. But her job in a home invasion is to go in the walk in closet with cell phone and gun and call 911. I wait for the bg to come to me in the master bedroom. Hopefully kill him and then go "check" on the getaway car who never heard the shots that killed their buddy.

Beware what you post on the internet. It can come back to bite you in the future. This statement could be used in court as an argument for intent, though I'm sure you simply meant "end the threat efficiently and make sure that there are no other intruders in the immediate vicinity."

Mossberg 500A, BHP (nice old T-series), BHP Compact ( Friend Wife ), a "group" of M1 Carbines. Appropriate ammo & charged magazine handy for each weapon. T-Series always loaded. Wife, Son, Daughter proficient with all so it could be one of the above to any combination adding up to four. Sincerely hope nobody ever tries their luck but confident that if they do they will find their luck to be very, very bad.

It's hard to justify the Garands or '03's for home / personal defense so all clipped M2 Ball in ammo cans.

Regards All - Al

A little something for anything, lol. Over Anxious Shih Tzu, one 12ga loaded up with slugs, one loaded with buckshot, 30-30, and my new FNP45 with 43 rounds of 230g +P Hornady TAP handy.

My main HD gun is next to my bed and is a 12 gauge Mossberg 500SPX with all the tactical stuff from the factory, I got it so cheap i couldn't pass it up when i went in to buy a plain 500.
I also use the PDX1 2 3/4" slugs with 3 00 buck pellets or commonly known as "Buck and Ball".

Its a perfect gun even tho i dont care for all the black plastic, But the collapsible stock and short barrel make for a very compact house clearing weapon.

If i sleep downstairs when my ailing mother needs me i keep my 1911 next to the recliner i sleep in.

Large Lab Pit Mix, Taurus PT99AF in the master bathroom drawer next to a Taurus PT92AF in the same drawer(because who wants to reload). Cell phone in the bathroom. If someone breaks in and the dog doesn't get them and they seek to do me grievous harm and not just take my stuff, they'll be found in front of my master bathroom door(the door will be open of course) riddled with 9mm JHP being overlooked by me holding a cell phone talking to the 911 operator. Hey I tried to retreat but he kept coming. Shame I can squeeze off a lot of shots in a few seconds with a 15 round factory magazine.

Then there's the other 3 dogs that are the "alarm" system that will allow me to #1) Grab my nightstand S&W 66-1 or #2) My 1911A1 kept by the bedroom office desk or #3) Mossberg 500 Tactical if I'm downstairs in the designated "gun room" and finally #4) My wife's nightstand S&W 15-4 should I need to retreat back upstairs whilst hoping the dogs are doing their duty (rip & shred).

You freaked me out with that pic, my Rotti "cisco" had a pink collar just like that and used to stare outside "just like that" if anything was amiss. I called my wife to see and she started crying. The good thing is, that my New English Bulldog is supposed to arrive tonight, They won't let us have Rottis in our development, so we have a Lab and now and, an English Bulldog, and they are both females. So I am surrounded. But they are truelly the first line of defense, and many a time they knew someone was up to no good before I did. Even my Labs. My wife had peaches before I met her and this guy wouldn't stop bothering her, she told him "don't get out of the car" Peaches was a big girl at 90 +lbs. The guy didn't listen and went to grab my wife, and peaches flattened him on his ass. With his throat in her mouth, "she was extremelly smart. He was then allowed to get up and leave. He never came back around.

Rotti's are given a bad rep by developments, insurance companies and many cities and towns because of a few people that failed to properly train their animals and thus an accidental mauling labeled them vicious. Same goes for many other medium and large breeds (insurance carriers in general have a huge list of breeds that you can't own that will exclude you from getting homeowner liability insurance). Kinda like us gun owners :what: . One bad shoot and we're all blamed.

Home Defense Weapon

When I an not in bed a variety of semi pistols. Next to the bed is my Charles Daly Tactical loaded with 00 buck and a couple revolvers. All loaded with one in the chamber and ready to go.
