#1 German Rottweiler
#2 Sig Sauer Laser/light combo set to STROBE
The rest are room dependent.
Kitchen - Rossi 44 Special
Living room - Glock 23
Office - Springfield Armory XD-45
Bedroom - Kel Tec Sub2000, 40 cal, Glock

If I have a few minutes, it's hard to beat a good ole 12 gauge in the confines of a house!

The only thing I have readily accessible as a HD weapon is my full size replica of Anduril:

Mine was made by United Cutlery as a none fighting replica. The sword overall is 52" long with 41" of blade. I'd never use it for sword play, but its very sharp on the tip and it weighs about 4lbs. A gentle thrust puts a good sized hole in drywall

Not the most effective weapon, but it beats nothing at all.

Ole Humpback - there was a cafe near my buddy's place in Minneapolis where a robbery was thwarted by a sword weilding owner... I couldn't find the news story (it was several years ago) but someone else mentioned it in a discussion about the place (quote below). I'd bet a potential invader would think twice about being in your home if you had that sword in your hands.

...Some years ago now I remember reading a story about how two armed robbers held up Santana's for a fair amount of cash and cigarettes. The owner, seeing the situation on his security camera upstairs, proceeded to lock the store's front door and lurk outside the back door. When the robbers emerged from it, he proceeded to attack one with a shortsword that he was (apparently) carrying on his person...

the debate of sword vs gun was decided in the middle ages, and military's of the world have never looked back. i've got a small collection of reproduction swords (NOT dulled)/axes/etc...but for home defense my trusty ak47 clone is the go to guy.

Mine is an AR15 and a HK USP for backup. If I go down my wife picks up her Saiga-410. Also, my son makes a pretty good attack dog...

I've got many options but the 1st two that will be available for my use are (and in order if I have time to choose):

1) Mossy 590A1

2) M&P 9 with TLR-1 light

Rem 870 HD...w/XS combat nite sites ghost ring rear and 6 rnd side saddle loaded with dubble ought!..should be enough to get the point across

I like my 12 ga daly and a good set of ear muffs, I don't ever want to use it but if I had to I really don't want to end up deaf because someone decide they wanted what I had to work for.

During daylight hours it's whatever I'm carrying but at night it's a Winchester 1300 12ga loaded buckshot/slug/buckshot and a Sig SP2022 with night sights that lives in my nightstand.

I question the wisdom of dulling any of you senses during a home invasion. Sounds like a good way to get snuck up on.
