Dang, that would put the hurt on them...18 rounds of .45 ACP Black Talon?! Oh yeah!

Dc2005

I used to have my winchester 1300 behind my bed with some shells near by. Never kept it loaded and I always kept the trigger lock on.

Keys would be nearby and if I had to, I could have the gun ready in like 10 seconds loaded. However, up here, in the frozen north, break-ins (where I live anyways) are pretty much nil, especially when someone is home. Even if there was a break in, I have never heard of one happening where the crook brought a gun of any kind lol. Up here it just doesn't happen as much.

Point being, I now just lock up all my firearms, the closest thing I have to ready to rock is a 1911 in my safe with loaded mags right beside it.

Kahr PM9 and two spare mags(CCW gun) loaded with 115 gr. Corbon DPX in pants folded next to bed plus a Streamlight Scorpion on belt.

Wifey has a Glock 27 converted to .357 Sig with two spare mags and loaded with Corbon 115 gr. JHPs (she likes it and is very accurate with it so I don't question her:D).

Remington 1100 12 gauge nearby loaded with Winchester rifled slugs (brick walls, no kids, no worries).

Mine is a S&W 40VE with gun light with 15+1 Win SXT in the mag. I also keep a G2 as back up and my wife has the rifle

I have two .40 cals also, as far as pistols, but I use this 9mm just for the fact of light mount and 17 round mag. Next to bed, locked in box, because of small children.

I should upgrade to a .45 ACP w/ light and hi-cap mags.

Soon.

The question is where are your other guns. Who wants a perp to find them and use them on you while you sleep. I made secret room and safe. It is perty nice. The hard part is trying to keep it a secret. :p (friends and family)

Two .40's. My wife has her S&W M&P in her night stand, and I have my Glock 22. Both have lights, and are loaded with Federal 135 grain expanding full metal jacket rounds. With our BR on the 2nd floor, and our alarm system and 2 dogs, I think we're fairly well set ;)

As a matter of fact I have a gun rack beside my bed,

Colt M1911A1
Glock 19
Mossberg 500 Persuader
Marlin 336W
Marlin 444
Springfield M14
Ruger 7mm
semi-auto M1 Thompson
And hopefully a few more soon.

You guys may not like this or the reasoning. I keep a .38 snubby with 158 grain Lead Round Nose bullets. Hollow points would be better. Anything bigger (even the .38 can) will travel through walls. You want something that will be possibly stopped by a 2x4 at least. A bullet that can and will travel through walls with ease can kill an innocent bystander. You read in the magazines how this gun will stop them dead in their tracks and how this caliber is better, but sometimes the old will do the job. I told my brother awhile back when he had to have a 7mm-08 for deer...the deer have not gotten harder to kill, people just have gotten worse at shooting. People haven't gotten harder to kill and we really don't need such big rounds to do the job.:scrutiny:

Sorry, but I think a closed and locked bedroom door must really be living in fear and I personally hope I never have to go that far in my house. If I can't get ready to take action before they break down the front or back door, I am in deep chili!!

Eh, I've been sleeping with a closed and locked bedroom door ever since I was a small child. It has nothing to do with fearing for my safety from wandering bandits, it's just something I've always done.

S&W Model 65-2 between the matress and sideboards of the bed. Trigger and such is covered by mattress. Sometimes a 1911's there, too (with lasergrips). Never keep it on the nightstand... the temptation to shoot my alarm clock would prove too much for me.

DPMS AP4 .308
It often tries to crawl into bed with me and the Wife too. I have to rebuke it and tell it to just get a small blanket and stay in the corner.

I keep a huge maglite and a .38 snubby tucked in a holster right where I can get it if I need it, but without the risk of accidentally shooting it in my sleep. I figure that's as good a "get off of me" gun as any. For some irrational reason, I've always had this fear of someone suffocating me in my sleep. Maybe I got tangled in a blanket when I was a baby. :p

If I need to get up, there's also a big .357 N frame and an AR15 with a light very nearby.

I live in a 5 acre plot of land and my house is right in the middle of this 5 acres of land so if I hit a bystander he is trespassing and deserves to be shot,

heres my bedside gun

1911 & G34 are in Serpa CQC holsters in the top dresser drawer also.
