I've lived here in Colorado since 1965, this hasn't been an overnight thing. I saw it start happening with John Denver and his Rocky Mountain High anthem. The hippy, yippy, yuppie plague started up around Boulder and spread due to the California of the ski areas. They had money and liberal philosophies, they bought votes by being cool, the glory seekers ran for office and won. White guilt allowed the passing of feel good legislation until the minorities that profited were in the Dems. hip pocket. There were, too many to mention, changes in our legislative laws, ie; marajuana, children of illegals getting resident tuition, Ward Churchill and the ultra libs in our education system. I could go on and on but the point is, it started out being acceptable by some of us and like a cancer it spread until, like a frog in a pot of water, you didn't feel it boiling until it was too late.
We conservatives in Colorado have been been the silent majority for so long, that we have finally lost our voice in government!
I'm 71 yrs old and I doubt I will see it ever come back to it's past glory. We are not our forefathers, not by a long shot, we have not the will, the courage or determination to do what is necessary. The bad guys outvote us, and we dare not speak of the alternative. Maybe I'm just too old to have the fire in my belly that I had as a young man, hopefully there is a generation out there that does.
