Listening to Kennedy hurts my head! I wish somebody would turn off his mic. I think I despise Kennedy more then any other Senator.

Kennedy is now repeatedly using "Sniper Rifles", "Assault Weapons" and "Armor Piercing Ammunition" repeatedly, in a fevered attempt to link these buzzwords.

Just left Sen Nelson of FL a message - yes they ask for a zip code Anybody that wants to ream him 34210 is Manatee County .

No wonder our taxes are so high. Why are they calling roll before every single one of these ammendments? I could have had this project over with by lunchtime. Our wonderful government at work.

Does anybody have the exact Kerry quote about joing the army if you want an AW? I have a project brewing.

Wait, did I just hear that Nelson (FL) voted Aye??? He just voted Aye for the other one. This stupid dolt doesn't even have the common sense to realizt the two amendments contradict each other, even after Craig just said it for them in 5-year-old-speak.

It looks to me like we've been knifed. Pull the damn thing out before the Democrats twist it!

Do you know what this means, folks? We have been judged by the politically savy and found wanting. They are no longer politically frightened of us.

Why are there so many yesses??? Don't they understand that the last vote, which passed by a VERY large margin, was in direct contradiction to this one? i am throroughly convinced now that we are headed for serious trouble with this type of leadership in this country.

Looks like the Kennedy amendment failed. So, was the Craig-Frist amendment attached to the Kennedy amendment, so it's gone now, too, or was it an amendment to the main bill?

Ten Republicans broke party ranks: Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, Susan Collins of Maine, Mike DeWine of Ohio, Peter Fitzgerald of Illinois, Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Richard Lugar of Indiana, Gordon Smith of Oregon, Olympia Snowe of Maine, George Voinovich of Ohio and John Warner of Virginia.

100 people could vote in 2 minutes if they'd actually sit their butts down in the chamber and do their job.

And remember, this is what these people do EVERY DAY...propose silly amendments, make silly speeches, and vote on silly bills that affect OUR rights. :what:

The Kennedy Amendment to S. 1805, which would expand the definition of banned "armor piercing" ammunition and require new standards for testing against body armor, fails.

Yays: 34

Nays: 63

Dang, how many more amendments are there going to be? Can't they just vote on this whole thing already and get the erosion over with.

Motion to Table the Levin Amendment to S. 1805? What the hell is a motion to table?

EDIT - Okay, a motion to table permanently kills the pending matter, and ends further debate.

Repub's and Dem's are nothing more than names..... They hide under a name to get elected- no matter what thier views are. You have to look at the past record to see if they are for FREEDOM- or against..........

Please call your senator

I called Fitzgerald's office and let him know how disappointed I was and that I could not in good conscience support him any longer.. as if he cared

Relax

I just talked with a key insider. He is there.

His comment: "Make no mistake. There will be no bill containing the AWB or the gun show amendment that sees the light of day."

They are about to kill it. They will vote in the next few minutes. He did say, as we thought, that there will be enough Dems to vote for S. 1805 to pass it.

However, there are several ways to make sure it never goes anywhere. The most simple is to never let it out of committee.

Yes, there are ways to guarantee that.

We lost this battle, but not the war.
