I care, but I don't obsess.
These days, I carry a larger gun than I used to, so an occasional minor bulge may happen.

But my method of dress negates most of those, and with folks wearing BlackBerries/SmartPhones/iPhones and all manner of electronic gear on their hips these days, I'm pretty sure the corner of my 1911 grip will be mistaken for one of the above.

Texas law is not so gracious on concealed carry, so truly "printing" e.g., making it obvious that you are carrying is not a good idea. But the longer I carry, and the more I look at other people, the less concerned I am.

Here in New York (the "Empire" State), concealed definitely means concealed. When I carry, it's usually a P-32 in a DeSantis Nemesis. I wear pants that are pretty baggy, so while you might see a slight bulge, you really can't see the outline of a handgun.

Around here, low-profile is the way to go.

I sold off my LCP because I hate the ridiculous price of .380 ammo and don't like reloading it.....just too small. Also, not a fan of the power (please no "shot placement" comments), so it's 9mm and up for my centerfire pistols. Anyway.....

My question: Do you care if you print your CCW? I have switched to a PM9 as my primary CCW and sometimes go IWB, but 90% it rides in a Desantis pocket holster, and you can tell it's there if you know what your looking for. So, that's it. Just wanting to see if folks mind being spotted. Me, I could care less. Just curious what others think.
Not a SINGLE bit....

Here in MO it's CONCEAL carry - not COVERT carry.... if "it prints" - it prints.
(results in other states may vary)

for the most part, i am basicly concealed. i had carried mostly IWB untill it started to cause a bit of leg pain which led to carrying a smaller gun. i eventually just said screw it and got a pancake holster for the glock 22. is it concealed? well yeah, it is covered with a t-shirt. does it print? nah.....it just conceals itself as a very large hip tumor!:D

I'm so lucky to live in a state with OC as an option. I can print, have my shirt get caught in the wind, or hell, just wear it out in the open. I really don't care. If someone see's my gun and comments on it, I'll probably just say something off key like, "if you like that you should see my car/wife/REAL gun/etc."

A lot of the times someone thinks they are printing but nobody else can see the gun. That usually happens to someone new to conceal carry. After a while you can care less.

No. The Walther TPH does not "print".

I care only because I choose to carry concealed. I like the fact that if I ever need my gun it will be a complete suprise. I live in a small community where if I were to be "made" I would hear about it and everyone else would as well. That would give away my element of suprise. Also "if" I chose to carry at work and I printed I may be asked to not carry. I realize that 98% of the people in the world are so caught up in themselves they would never know. However I would prefer the other 2% not know as well

I'm pretty careful not to print. In my state it's big no no if someone can tell you have a gun. PITA but that's the rules

I voted yes. I don't want to give up the element of surprise if I need it.

Been packing for over 40 years and nobody suspects I carry or own a gun but my wife and some very close fellow "packers"

So far, so good.

I consider printing to be showing the outline of a gun, which is not likely to happen unless you have an unholstered gun in the front pocket of tight jeans. A bulge can be anything. I'm not sure how the law reads in TX but its my understanding that people can not be be able to definitively tell one is carrying to be legal.

No printing in Texas - if the "common person" can tell you are concealing/carrying a firearm you are in violation. Yes there is a lot of room of interpretation on this, but thats what law is.

As per Texas CHL Law:

GC §411.171. DEFINITIONS.

(3) "Concealed handgun" means a handgun, the presence of which
is not openly discernible to the ordinary observation of a reasonable person.

Yes I care if I'm printing. Concealed means concealed. I am occasionally in the presence of people who would be very upset if they knew a firearm (gasp) was in their presence. I don't care if there is a small bulge, but if you can tell that the bulge is a firearm, I will find another way to carry it or wear more clothing.

This is exactly my position. I dress accordingly to prevent printing, it isn't that hard. I even bought myself a tactical vest (doesn't "look" tactical to the general masses) so I can carry concealed while in summer clothing.

If I have to go external I wear a Pistol Pack fanny pack and have it positioned on my right front.

I live in California and I don't want to unnecessarily upset the natives when I'm out and about (which printing would almost certainly do).

In Ohio open carry is legal..... but "aggravated menacing" isnt. Isnt authority fun?!
:D

BTW I live near the city (Cleveland) Im sure down in the rural parts OC is perfectly fine, but up here not so much.

Point being its wise to stay concealed when possible as to not get booked for exercising a legal right. :banghead:

Cleveland doesn't care about open carry. Lots of ofcc members have open carry walks. Cleveland heights had an issue but they can't hold you for it. Just because you have a gun in plain sight doesn't mean you are inducing panic. Hard to prove.

With all the cell phones, MP3 players, PDAs, etc available and carried today just about everyone prints. People looking at you can't really tell what is making that bulge and believe it or not most don't care. I, for one, seldom walk around staring at peoples waistlines...I just assume everyone is carrying and handle my affairs as if that was true.

I am, by nature & training, a discreet person. I keep secrets. Responding on this forum, even with semi-anonymity is a small violation of my code. So, yes I care, very much.

Ive talked to many of officers in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties about it. Mostly instructors and gun shop owners. They all told me that you many officers would absolutley be happy to take you in and at least give you a hard time for OC. Even give a little smirk or laugh when telling what they do. Like its a fun game to stick it to you for knowing law better than them. Just doesnt seem worth it IMO. YMMV

Also OFCC rocks! Love those guys/gals
