How many guns I own that are worth more than my car depends on the value of scrap metal.

My S&W 642 is worth twice what my current car is (~$400 and ~$200, respectively).

I like to keep my vehicles cheap. Old and cheap cars can be repaired cheaply and they are 'self-insured'; that is, if it gets smashed or breaks, the amount I can get for it at the scrap metal yard is about what it would be worth as a running vehicle.

Yes ... if you compare my well-worn '98 Ranger to my accurized precision rifle. Replacing the truck would cost less than replacing the gun. But the Ranger isn't my only vehicle (and the rifle isn't my only gun :) ).

Well, since I don't own a car, each of my guns is worth more than my car. :)

However, all my guns put together are worth less than my motorcycle.

My 12 year old Honda Civic (only vehicle with four wheels), and my DPMS LRT-SASS complete with Zeiss scope say yes!

Not true if we include motorcycles though.

My car is 24 years old, has 51,000 miles on it, is completely original and was kept in a garage most of its life. The city values it at $400 for property tax purposes. High blue book is around $1500. So yes, I have a few nice older guns, an AR, and a bolt action that are worth at least that.

Don't own any cars....do have a couple of pickup trucks. Several guns on a good day might bring $7K, in time the guns will surpass the value of the vehicles.

Yes ! But its a loaded answer/question for me! :)

I have:

My First Ranger Bolt action 22 Rifle - Dad Gave Me!
My First Marlin 336 30-30
My Great Grandfathers Mauser SS .22 Rifle
My Grandfathers Stevens 20 Guage Shotgun
My Grandfathers Stevens 16 Guage Shotgun
And a Remington 700 30.06 (Given to me by Son of Hunting Buddy who died from cancer several years ago...RIP Mel....Its Safe and still after whitetail)

to name a few.......I have some expensive firearms in the thousands but the above are priceless.....:D

I have a 2003 Chevy 2500HD (est value...$15,000.00)
and a 07 Ford Ranger (est value.... 12,500.00)

You can for sure get either of these before any of the above listed items!
Thats just the way it is!

are we talking dealer trade in or Kelly Blue Book value for a moderately good to fair condition ride? market value is considerably higher than the BB for my car. My rifle on the other hand is in such high demand that it's worth more now than it was 6 months ago... but the rifle and optics actually run the same $2K ea. Add the case, bi-pod, ammo, and the data book, well... it certainly is more than the car, worth more in the time to come as well.

My car is a 1983 Ford Ranger with a not to functional 4 cylinder engine...most of my guns are worth more.

I have a W.W. Greener SxS that is probably worth about 20 times more.

Have a car worth probably a few grand, even up to $4K (~136k miles, custom lightening through random rust removal) and put a whole average of 100 miles on it a moth at most), no guns near that valuable, nor are any guns that valuable in my immediate future.

I have two old bikes, one that was $1K several years ago, probably worth a lot less now, and another, older '79 Suzuki that was $800, so very soon I'll have an AR worth more than either one.

(My nice bike is worth more than the car and two old bikes put together!)

PLEASE list your most expensive gun and your cheapest car, if you answered "yes." pics would be great too.

Alright, but for now the guns aren't very expensive:

Most expensive gun: Savage .22LR bolt (~$200?) maybe the Beretta Neos?
Cheapest vehicle: '79 Suzuki GS850G $800
