sadly yes, I doubt if I could sell my f250 for more than one particular rifle I have is worth. But my trucks bumper is damaged, passed 200k miles a while ago and it wont pass emissions testing. But that's not the worst part, I still owe $500 on my truck! 2 months left.:)

A new car every 20 years or so whether I need one or not.
That almost made me sprew coffee everywhere. :)

I drive a 1987 Jeep Cherokee (it runs great and the 4WD kills the Denver snow). I paid $1 for it 6 years ago. The guy just wanted to get rid of it and I had a dollar. Been rolling ever since. Every Gun I own is worth more than my car. Spit, I own a water pistol that cost more than my car! I have an S&W that was made the year I was born. I could have left the revolver in the store and bought hundreds of Jeeps. ;)

I appreciate cars, but I REALLY like guns! :D

My daily driver is too old to have a Blue Book value, so I would have to say "yes."

I got that beat, 1984 BMW 318i, and it was given to me by a total stranger (well, technically a client of mine, but I met him the same day he gave me the car). Got 300k+ miles and still going strong. :D

edit;
PLEASE list your most expensive gun and your cheapest car, if you answered "yes." pics would be great too.

Very well. Currently, the most expensive gun would be my M1A.

Paid $1400 for the rifle, has a couple thousand rounds through it now, but it also has a small rail added for the harris bipod, and now also sports a Turner Saddlery 1907 biothane sling.

The aforementioned BMW.

Hmm.. Well my car is only worth maybe 12-1500, whereas my firearms are all worth maybe 4-500 each. :/

Being a college student sucks.

Yeah, I'm another guy with a '93 GMC Sonoma...If I'm generous and give it a $900 market value, I could own 2 of them for the value of my 1932 Ainsley Fox 12 ga. double.

We're even close on either of my Ruger 77's, one in .257bob and a .270, both wearing Leupold 3x9 glass and Timney triggers.

Or the 1971 SKB 20ga. O/U double in full blue, with one-off factory engraving.

A car is like a kleenex - it's a declining value asset! Best to buy it after the initial depreciation is done, drive it until it's too expensive or too unreliable to keep driving, and throw it away. A good gun, on the other hand....

All but 2 are worth more than my 99 taurus.. And yes to worth more than my house.
I paid 500.00 for my 14 x 70 mobile as a fixer upper...Its worth more than that now but it keeps me warm and dry so I keep it

My daily driver is a 1994 Toyota pickup. There are several guns in my antique Winchester collection that are worth much more than that old truck.

To the poster who asked if anyone had a gun worth more than their house:

My house cost $1400 to build (think: Unabomber).
I own an M1a and Winchester 42, either of which eclipse my 1997 Jeep Cherokee with 235K on it.

My land, on the other hand…

with the prices of cars now days, it would be one heck of a gun to be worth more than a car. most of my guns are worth about what you would have to pay for a "clunker" car. i remember when you could buy a clunker for $50.00. but that isnt going to happen again any time soon. now, a clunker is $500.00-1000.00, with the $500.00 one haveing something majorly wrong with it.

I own a lot of guns that are worth more than some of the cars I have and have had. I also own a lot of guns that will be more valuable in 25 years than some of my autos also.

Seeing as how my two vehicles are 18 and 13 years old, it's not that difficult to do. I've never seen the reason to own the latest greatest thing, including cars. It's a heck of a lot cheaper to fix them than it is to replace them with something new(er).

I hope to never have a car payment, it saves a lot of money that can be used for guns.:p

Depending on when the transmisson on the Jimmy finale goes out, it is probaly a dead heat. Though, the B.M. Varmiter, with the scope is probly worth more. Can't find a picture of the Jimmy, and it is not worth dealing with the cold to take a picture of it.

LOL I suppose im not sure... The most "Expensive" gun I own is an S-12 I nabbed for about 500 a week ago, and My 86' AMC Eagle gets random offers all the time....
Where is the option for I dont know? :)

I have a 95 ford taurus with a smashed in rear driver side door... All of my firearms other than my single shot .22 bolt action are worth more than my car. Sad really... :p

Just remember a scraped full sized car or truck will net you between $200 and $300 for the metal alone.

This cost me $500, and it runs fine. 4WD too. :)

I sold an MP5 a few years back, and it went for $13000 more than I had in all of my cars at the time, and part of the proceeds bought my Subaru, which is the first car in about 20 years, I spent more than a $1000 on. It was $4000.

Why waste money on a losing proposition like a new car or truck, when you can use the money saved to by guns? :)

I am still driving my first car... lol It is patched, rebuilt, repaired, repainted. SOOO I figure it is worth maybe 2000 tops. It is a late 80s wrangler that spent around 60k miles of life as a well tending vehicle.

I got ahold of a GAP built hospitaller style 308 last year, so I had to vote yes : )
