As much as I hate to admit it for me it was Ruger - and geeeee! I hate those guys.

I bought two Vaqueros in .45LC NIB for Cowboy Action Shooting. Worst pieces of rotten dog dung I ever owned. Loose action (i.e. lousy lock up), undersized cylinder throats that Ruger won't fix and one of them actually got some rust on the casehardened finish which I've never experienced on any other firearm I've owned in 30 years. I'll never own another Ruger as long as I live. I spit on Ruger and wish them ill. May the blue bird of misery fly up their nose - may an elephant stomp their tender toes. They're a disgrace to US Manufacturing. But then if one buys a cheap gun one should expect to get cheap quality and cheap performance.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Winchester model 70's were first, followed by Smith and Wesson and Colt.
Much later GLocks, FN rifles, and Sako Rifles. Pretty short list of possible multiples left, but Browning High Powers, more Colts, Sig, and possibly HK's. In rifles it would be FAL's or AR-15/18 type rifles.

I think it's S&W because of the revolvers. I didn't get a S&W pistol until the '90s.

Hmmm. On second thought, if you include the Old Army, then it's Ruger.

Remington - 870, 870

Ruger - 10/22, SP101

Almost bought my second S&W this week, but had second thoughts. Not because of the Smith, because of other stuff I need.

I actually got second copies of manufactures about the same time. Within a two month period i picked up a second keltec(p32), a second springfield(xd subompact), and a second remington (870).

Smith & Wesson

I own a 686 6" and a 629 Classic DX 8 3/8".

Awesome weapons they are, that's for sure!!! :D

S&W for me too - my first handgun was a .357 wheelie, then I bought a Ruger MkII and then another S&W, this time a M41.

For pistols, Smith & Wesson. (4506, 4006, 5906, 3913, Sigma, Enhanced Sigma, .40 Sigma, 586, 686)

For rifles, Savage. (.30-06 110 and a .22)

Everything else..........it's a mishmash, especially since I'm starting to get into assembling my own again.

Hey, no rifle brands?

None of the above/other:

My first double of the same brand were from Marlin. I had a 9mm Camp Carbine, then got a beautiful 1966 39A lever action .22LR on an impulse buy. Recently a Model 60 made that a triple for Marlin.

The next after that were CZs. I had a CZ-75, then bought a CZ-70 much later. A CZ-40B followed soon after that. Once I got my C&R, two CZ-52s joined the family, followed by a BRNO #1 .22 bolt action, which is sort of a cousin to the CZs being almost identical to the modern CZ-452.
