If you could have any firearm what would it be

Do we have to stick to legal choices, or is this a purely hypothetical, "anything goes" scenario?

If anything goes, well, I'm a big fan of Aliens, so I'd like to build my own "pulse rifle" (Thompson submachinegun + sawn-off pump-action shotgun + "spacey" housing).

On the other hand, if my choice has to be compatible with my local (UK) laws, I've always liked old-fasioned leaver-action rifles, so I'd go for one of them. Maybe a Winchester, with a proper wooden stock, etc. Or maybe an Enfield Mk4 (I know that's a bolt action, but I like them too).

Or possibly a Calico in .22, just because it is so ridiculous (100-round magazine), and yet still legal in the UK (semi-autos are banned, except .22 rimfire rifles, and shotguns).

Alternatively, if for the sake of argument I can pretend I'm living in the US, I think just a normal Evil Black Rifle. Or maybe an Uzi.

Hmm, this one:

There are several that I would like to have but that will never be on "the list" because of various legal and financial reasons. In other words, I can't afford them because of a bunch of BS laws, eventhough some could be had legally.

I would like to have an M-240B and a select fire FAL. A mini-UZI with a suppressor and an HK MP5K would be cool too. Add in a 7.62x51 MG-42 (MG-3 I think is the designation) and I should be OK for awhile with those.

I would like a very simple single shot with a 16.5" to 18" barrel and plain stock in 38 special. A scaled Win 1885 Hi-Wall would be sweet, with a silver post front sight and a receiver or tang mounted peep. Just looking for a 100 to 150 yard walking gun. Put scope blocks on the barrel for a simple 4x or 6x scope with good QD rings

Mmmm. Toughie. Probably have to go with a true HK select fire MP5 with all the bells and whistles. I don't know why I'm putting this, because in 15 mins I will change my mind! Either the MP5 or a Raven .25 automatic...kidding. :what:

So many choices- I'm a pretty poor man at the moment, and just have a couple of handguns (a plinker and a .40). I'd love a decent 1911 of some sort, maybe a compact for carry or back-up if I get the police job I'm trying for.

Also would love a carbine and/or some long guns...

Just wondering...

I'm just wondering, are you sure .38special's big enough considering you're talking about using a scaled 1885 Hi-Wall as a 100-150yd walking gun? Personally, I'd be thinking of .32Win.Spl. for the distance, but it's your gun and either way, I think, is do-able and would be nice.

1911 Wilson 45 Auto
How about adding a wilson AR 15 since money is not an object

An Armat M41A Pulse Rifle, built out of a proper Thompson, and a shortened 870.

EDIT: "Lieutenant, what kind of rounds do those pulse rifles fire...?" "Eleven point four-three millimeter Silvertip brass-case. Why?" :D

Tough call

If we're talking realistic guns, I honestly really want to own a Semmerling LM4 at some point, half for a collector's item (features prominently in one of my favorite book series) and half just to fire one off and practice with it. Either that or just about everything in Frank Castle's apartment. :D

For fantasy, I certainly wouldn't mind a pulse rifle, though the underslung portion was actually a pump-action grenade launcher, not a shotgun. That's the version I'd want. I'd also love one of the big-ass, strapped to your hip, auto targeting guns that Drake and Vasquez had. And I'd make sure not to fire either of them right under the primary heat exchangers.

Though I'd settle for a phased plasma rifle in a 40 watt range. Just have to see who gets that ref.

And no, an Hk-93 or V-93 is not "close enough." ;)
