turning 21... what would pique your interests?

You can never have too many revolvers. If you find a GP-100 for a good price by all means buy it. Or buy a 9mm/.45 1911.

t george,

The CZ shoots as good as it feels. The slide rails are inside the frame instead of outside, allowing for a lower slide profile and thus a lower barrel axis. This results in lower perceived recoil and less muzzle rise, allowing faster recovery times. The DA trigger pull is a little gritty at first but that lessens with shooting.

good to know about the cz i have never really done that much research on thier hand guns but i do know that their rifles are nice... if the handguns are of the same quality i would think that i will fall in love with a cz of some sort, but i still gotta look into a few diffrent 1911's... and a few other options

Now that I'm 49, what piques my interest is to master pistol shooting. A fine quality .22 will help you to do that, if you're so inclined. A used Smith M17 or 18 would be hard to beat. If you prefer autos, there are many good ones; your $900 budget should even get you a Smith Model 41.

Edited to add: I'd be very pleased if I'd had the sense to do this at the age of 21. :)

I can't argue with the idea of a good, used .22 revolver and .22 auto if you can find the pair for that price. Be sure to buy ammo. ;)

My 21st birthday gift to myself was a Springfield Armory 1911- duo tone. 17 years later, I still have it. I have owned over a dozen 1911's during that time- but that is the only one I've kept.

Buy yourself something nice- you will never regret it.

you gotta get something classy that you will be able to look at in the futue and be proud of after the other plain janes go down the road.

like a s&w m19 or m66 with 4" bbl

When I was 21 there where a few things that did pigue me up on interest and they tended to be a lot softer than my guns. But then I had a good stock pile of guns then that most people never see too though

at 21, what would peak my interests? slutty 18-19 year old college girls. you have enough guns already :D

I'm 29, and 19 year old girls still peak my interest... I may have lost the ability to pick them up, but that's another story.

My first gun at 21, was the Sig 220. It was a great choice and in the price range I was looking. Favorite hanndgun I own is a 1911, the Kimber Warrior, but it's not in the price range I had at 21.

lol fellas i got the girl thing coverd! 19 AND 20 year old girls would be at the top of the list, but i have been with one girl for a long while she is at the top of all my intrests, but im looking for a new gun! one thing i like about her is that every time i have a birthday or xmas she wishes she was 21 so she could buy me a hand gun! we get along well as far as guns go! she is not a real active shooter, but the first time i took her to the range she promtly out shot me with the 22 rifles... it was humbling ok back to topic! lets talk 1911 brands and modles for a few min here... for a 900 price range what model 1911 would be the first on your list... i have an xd and think of it as a quality pistol are springfield 1911 a quality place to start?

When I turned 21 I bought a sigma in 9mm. I was tight on cash and wanted something reliable, and that gun has served its purpose.

well yesterday i got a kimber custom classic for 600.
top of the line model and inexpensive

A Colt is always the right answer!

I use to support the SA's 1911 quite a bit, but lately have sold my SA's to buy more Colts 1911.

You are turning 21, buy something you will keep for a lifetime.

Honestly, in this economy, I suggest going for something in 9mm. It'll be cheap(er) to shoot than a .45 and most other pistol calibers. And if you're worried about stopping power, putting the bullet in the right place will stop someone. A S&W M&P would be a great choice. It fits the hand excellently, has minor recoil for a polymer pistol, very reliable and comes with almost no safety's so it's terrific for carry, plus there isn't a lack of options for it and it goes for a good price (I believe S&W might still be doing theiry two free mags promotion).

I wouldn't be of much help, when I turned 21 I had to have a S&W 66, guess I was a dinosaur. Come to think about it, at that time, the 66 was the preferred dino hunting handgun, in my neck of the woods.

A Beer gun that fires alcohol into your mouth!:p

Seriously, when I was 21 I wanted a Sig 226, I thought it was the biz-e-ness...and it was. Probably not in the price range, but I've heard lots of good things about the HK P30L.

I'm assuming you have decent hearing and eye protection, if you don't, then please buy some. Not as exciting or cool as a handgun, but then again, neither is blindness or deafness.

Good luck with whatever you choose and enjoy your birthday.
