Especially if you do what I did, go to bank, withdraw $1000 cash, then stop in to the gun shop on the way home! Ha ha, that is how I came to possess my 1911. I had no idea I was going to buy a gun, but the 1911 was cool, felt great in my hand, and I kind of had been wanting a gun in .45 ACP, so it just worked out that I could not resist.
Anyhow, my immediate goal now is to return the Sig P938 that I just bought because it has the old, defective main spring which is causing the hammer to follow the slide back sometimes. It will only get worse unless I replace the spring and housing with the updated part, but that is major job and Sig does not warranty for second owners. Gun shop has two more of these so I may just trade for the other one if it has the newer style mainspring. Else, money back.
Second goal, as noted earlier is to spend the $500 gift cards I bought for $400 for this same gun shop. A big bore revolver (.40 something) might be nice.
Also want to do more shooting, but can't decide which gun to shoot next. The SA .44 Magnum would be fun, but so would the DA .45 Colt. And then I have a Bond Derringer with both .38/.357 and .45/.410 barrels. Also have some ammo coming this week in 9mm HP so would like to run some through my SD9VD.
Lastly, since I pocket carry a S&W 442 J-frame, I am wondering if I should get another one as a spare? The GS had one used for $400 and may still have it.
