What are your Gun Goals for 2020?

To finish my three rifle projects, 303 Ishapore Enfield, M1 Carbine, and 1916 Spanish Mauser.

Hmm, to shave down my collection to just the more interesting ones, actually get more shooting in then this last year.

To begin tapping the slide’s long Roll Pin (retainer for block and firing pin) from my Sig P6.

With the 1/16” Punch and a large hammer, the pin doesn’t seem to budge at all.

My gunsmith should be able to, with a few minutes’ time.
I already practiced the frame’s full disassembly with a complete Reassembly. This was simply to learn how it’s done, getting ready for a possible Cerakote (done by somebody else).

Range time, hunt, fish, love my wife, children and grandchildren. Watch the sun rise and watch the sunset; take deep breathes out in the woods, on the lakes and give thanks - it does not get any better than this good people - I am old and very lucky.
I have plenty of great firearms and want for many more but, I certainly have enough. My firearms plan for 2020 is to read, shop, trade, consign, etc - as most of you know, it likens to any addiction. I will go into self-imposed firearms rehab but I have tried that many times before - it just does not take.

I will have accomplished my main one as soon as this is paid off-View attachment 879975
Mine isn't that actual one, but looks the same with the addition of a Gracoil recoil reduction device. I made the deal to buy it Saturday, and hope to shoot it on New Years again. Maybe then a 9mm or .380 carry gun.
Oh man, that's awesome.
I'm envious. What a great trapgun!
Congrats.

Nothing too specific for me. Would like to pick up a bolt gun in 7.62x39 and sell off my 686. Otherwise, I'm not looking to grow the collection, but maybe refine it, selling or trading off the guns I'm less than excited about.

And in parallel, buying a few ar lowers, bricks of 22, and pistol reloading components to hedge against a possible repeat of the banic come fall of 2020.

Goals...shoot and reload more....every gun in the safe at least once. Pick up at least one gun off my "need to buy" list that's been there for a long time. A .475 linebaugh might be the answer.

Shoot all the guns I have more often and resist impulse purchases. Limit my rounds fired at range to 100 rounds twice a month. Quality practice instead of quantity fired. Read the reloading manuals(Lyman) I've downloaded and decide whether to start reloading. I've saved 10,000 38/357 brass cases in the past 4 years so have that component covered for quite a while.

As an avid shooter and a compulsive reloader, I resolve to spend more time cleaning my guns. My father always taught me to never put away a firearm without cleaning it first.

I've got a several:

Move up 1 classification step in IDPA, make at least seven 3Gun matches

New full size ram silhouette swinger for my 547 yard berm

Putting together a new "big game hunting practice rifle" based on a REM M7 in .223, so I will practice more using the above mentioned ram silhouette.

Building a new coyote hunting upper based on a Faxon Match Grade 18" heavy fluted barrel.

I keep thinking I need to sell some but ... I dont want to!

I really don't need another 223/5.56 but I really like the CETME-L ... its calling to me.

Finish rebuilding the engine in my 63 VW Baja so I can set my targets out further (600-1,000 yards) on a buddies farm and compare my SiG SSG-3000/Benchmade and Sharps/JP Enterprise AR-10, both in 6.5 Creedmoor ... both have 3.5pound triggers Leopolod 8-25 ELR scopes, but the SSG is bolt action and the AR10 is of course semi ... shooting out to 500 with the same ammo the Sharps/JP Enterprise AR-10 out shoots the SSG by about .7 moa.
