Winchester Model 1894 (38-55) circa 1908
Rossi Interarms Model 62 SAC
Mossberg 500A
Sears and Robuck Model 41
Colt Mark IV Series 70 Government Model

Most of these were from my Grandfather but my dad gave me the Winchester

I was given two Winchester 1894 very low serial numbers with octagonal barrels from my grandfather. I recently passed both on to my grand children. The guns are in excelent shape and both shoot perfectly. Very happpy with the fact they have been in the family for five generations and still going...

A Remington Model 870 from before they were called Wingmasters from my Dad. I still use it for pheasants.

When I first turned 21 and got my carry permit, my dad gave me a Sig P232 as my birthday/CCW present. Haven't carried it in a long time (just because my Kahr K40 is the same size, same weight, much more powerful, and more reliable), but it's well cared for and it sees range time every now and then.

My dad gave me my late uncle's Remington Speedmaster .22 caliber rifle. It was the first gun my uncle ever had, and I feel proud to have it!

98% of the guns I own are inherited from my 2 grandfathers. Some of them are pretty valuable money wise, all of them are valuable to me for sentimental reasons.

Same scenario here, except mine are from an Uncle and are mostly older, collector, hunting, and military guns.
Everything from an 1873 Winchester to a WASR-10 AK

My father left me his Colt 1903 Pocket auto, a good friend gave me his DWM Luger, my sister gave me her Glenfield 60, my father-in-law intended to leave me his Mossberg 352, but at the time of his death it had previously been "borrowed" by one of my brothers-in-law, and simply never returned. Since it wasn't in the will, that was that.

Grandfather Mom's side:

Springfield Model 1873 45-70 #125XXX issued to the Omaha Guard for deployment in the Spanish American War. He carried it. Like new condition. I returned it to his oldest son last Summer to pass along within the family bearing the family name (I do not.)
Winchester Model 37 single shot 410 shotgun circa 1950-60's

Grandfather Dad's side

Harper's Ferry Model 1855 Rifle in .54 cal. (2 band)
Springfield Model 1873 45-70 #359XXX fair condition, origin unknown. He was born in 1855 and dies in 1935.
Remington Damascus twist 12 gauge SxS
Wm. Parkhurst Damascus twist 12 gauge SxS

Wife's uncle

.25 Baby Browning

Now when I go......so will the firepower. Shame I don't still have a son to appreciate them. Lot of time invested in some of the stocks smoothing, lightening and bringing out the grain. Haven't purchased anything now in 2 1/2 years. Guess I should trade something.

My grandpa gave me a Colt New Frontier that was made in 1972. It was made 8 years before I was born.
I was also given a S&W 422 that was my father-in-law's before he past away. That gun was made in 1984. I was still watching Elmo when it was made.
Those two guns I will never sell. Someday my son and daughter will get them.

Unfortunately none. As compensation I've passed several of mine on to my kids hoping to start a trend.

A Smith model 19 that my dad actually gave me years before he died when he quit shooting...

An H&R topbreak .32 that was my father-in-laws, passed down a few weeks before my mother-in-law died...

My Dad wasn't really into guns, and my Mom thinks one of her nephews "inherited" all her Dad's guns when he died. She was hoping I'd end up with at least one, but not to be.

But my FIL gave me a 1955 Remington 760 (.30-06) which was the first gun I ever took a whitetail with. He loaned it to me back when I was just getting into hunting, and gave it to me when he started downsizing his collection. I toyed with selling it at one point, but couldn't bring myself to do so. It's a fine specimen.

Half the guns my father "left" me were previously owned by my grandfather.

1894 Winchester .32WSPL
1898 30-40 Krag
1950's Remington mod 511 Scoremaster .22
1939 LeFever Nitro Special 16ga.
1860 Army Colt .44 caliber {cool gun!}
These were my grandfather's. The LeFever was actually given to me by him.
My father's guns:
1968 Browning Superposed Lightning 12ga.
1968 Browning L-12 auto-5
S&W mod 12-2 .38spl.
Colt Targetsman .22
I sold the Superposed due to salt wood stocks. It rusted to pieces before I got it. The Krag was a butchered up POS, it went also. Found out the barrel was bent on the Winchester and sold it also.
The rest of them are still in my possession will likely remain there forever.

Dad gave me a Ruger Blackhawk
When Grandpa died he had alot of guns, however there are alot of guys in the family. We each got to pick one of his guns, and I picked his deer/bear rifle a Marlin 336 in .35 Remington.

Several of my guns came from family...
Rem. mod. 510 .22 single shot from my mom's dad
Savage mod 24 .22/410 o/u from my dad
Inland .30 carbine from my dad
mod 94 .30-30 Win from my dad
Ruger standard .22 from my dad
Win. sxs 12 ga. from my wife's dad
Marlin/Glenfield .22 from my wife's dad

Thats it. Nothing special to any but me. :D

Mark

I have my dads S&W Model 28, and my grandfathers 1863 .58 cal. Springfield musket (still in fine condition and shootable, with bayonet and sheath). Dads sporterized Oberndorf Mauser 98, and 1953 vintage Marlin model 39. A good friend left me his S&W .22 semi a few years ago, upon his passing.

Colt Army Special chambered in .38 Long Colt.

If I interpreted a chart on another site correctly, it was made in 1923.

I inherited from my Grandfather about 10 years ago a 1967 Winchester Model 100. He bought it new in '67. Has taken a lot of deer over the years, including one myself this season. Will never part with it. He had 5 or 6 guns but our whole family is into hunting so they got distributed among my uncles. I was the only grandchild out of 13 to get one.

Bringback 1918 Erfurt Luger

I lost my precious Dad nine months ago. He lived in Alaska and his picture could be on any outdoor magazine and be appropriate. He loved land, guns, nature, animals and freedome to enjoy all of it. My greatest regret at this moment, is not appreciating his knowledge, keen sense for a great gun, a great deal. I am the oldest of five girls. Do not recall life without a gun in my hand, but as life would have it, I became busy. My Dad left a ton of guns, and by process of not being greedy, I inherited what was left after the others chose theirs. I would love to know more about the following guns as I intend to type up their story and put them in my new safe for my children, in memory of Grandpa.

Thank you so much for any input.... I go online, but the info is too much.

Colt Single Action 45N.P.
1 Smith Wesson 22 Long Rifle
1 Ruger 44 Special Custom
1 Colt Single Action, New Frontier (44S),
1 S&W Model 18, Ivorys
1 S&W Model 29, 44MA9
1 S&W 38 Special Model 14,
1 German Luger 30 Cal, DW95
1 S&W Model 41 Extra Barrel

I put this on another thread and then found this.... sorry.

I have my grandpa's old Remington Model 11 12-gauge. Started shooting trap with it when I was in high school, before I got my Model 12 trap gun.

Four years ago, my first cousin passed away from cancer, and left me my grandpa's old Winchester Model 90 in .22 Long. When I get an opportunity, I'll take it squirrel hunting at least one more time, in his memory.

I got some great ones from my dad, but no longer have any of them. But I got a S&W Terrier from my mom, which is my main carry gun.
