Oh its an Armalite M-15A4 btw, and I sold it back in January for $1,350. I spent $1,500 total and shot about 300-350rds through it.

Seems like the best way to find the most tacticool AR is to identify the shooter with the least experience.

There seems to be an inverse relationship between level of practical experience and number of gadgets on the rifle.

Pair of M4'geries based on:

The real thing. This is my son's rifle (US Army issue) while deployed to Iraq last year. The top 2 are based on what he learned while there from various fellow soldiers he worked with.

IndianaBoy...Nice Start but you need some more bolt on junk to be more functional = Tactical = Tacticool. Good luck with your build!

On another note I have some stuff lying around I may go slap it on and take a new picture. I'm thinking it will take 3 VG's and a tear gas launcher to win THR title MTR.

Where's Specops when you need him?

Reckon I'll stick with this one for 2-legged coyotes . . . functional in a variety of situations, easy to carry, uses AAA batteries, I can co-witness thru the flip-up rear sight, and precipitates no monthly cable TV bill . . .

NWDude, you have two front grips? Put 'em on. 'Tactical' is slang for 'bolt crap on.' Cowitness your scopes.

Duh, all the cool guys know the second front grip is for your sidearm.

Edit: Nothing to see here. Move along. ;)

And with a flashlight and scope per Marshall Dodge's request ;)

One thing you have to like about the "SWAT rifle" pictured earlier in the thread is the nice mishmash of accessories. I mean, you spend the money on night vision, suppressors, and cheap lasers and then go with the cheapest Chinese red dot you can find as your optic? Then skimp by not buying a BUIS at all? I think the defining line between "tactical" and "tacticool" is that with the second rifle, you can tell at a glance that it doesn't get used much just by the awkwardness of all of its gadgets.

Here's mine. I'm going to add an Eotech 3x magnifier in a couple of months, and then I'm going to find a good bipod for prone shooting. I also want to get one of the Magpul butt stocks as I understand they eliminate any play between the stock and the buffer tube.

Keep in mind that this is a mirror image.

hankdatank1362, yes, the rifle on the left has 2 VFG. They have been reversed, since I put them on incorrectly. The rear is the pop out bi-pod and the grip controls the tac laser, and the front grip has the Surefire light control on it. As I said, the rifle is configured the way some individuals in some units had their weapons configured. I built both while my son was deployed, so all I had was a sack of parts he had shipped to me, and I did my best at assembling them to his verbal specs (and having one hell of a great time doing it!). They have been slightly altered since he redeployed home.

Here they are in final configuration:

Not the best picture and I don’t know if it’s the most tacticool:

DEC061232.jpg

Colt 6920
Trijicon Tripower
Larue cantilever
Troy BUIS
Magpul CTR with pad
Magpul Miad grip
Samson Rail
Tango Down VFG
Vicker’s Sling
Insight M3X

I love them all!

BTW: Cesium, I know it was a joke, and it pains me that you could do something so harmless, yet still have it be illegal. The VFG on a pistol makes it an AOW, which is god for some time at club Fed. I'd ixnay on the icturepay.

DougW, you've actually rationalized, in my mind, a good reason for two VFG's on one rifle. Makes sense, if you think about it! Nice job!
