Alrighty.... 1911 Gov't. Basic example of the platform, no custom nothing, hand fitting, etc, etc. Just a bulk production handgun. Hypothesizing acceptable reliability with either cartridge, steel bottomed flush fit mag. 7+1 for .45 Automatic, 9+1 for 9x19mm.
Would one be better off trading the +2 additional capacity of 9x19 for the lesser capacity (but possibly more effective) .45 Automatic ? FMJ or HP is irrelevant, the 9mm is still a small hole, .45 is still a big hole.
I know. .45 Automatic is what God and JMB intended the 1911 to be. Please attempt to remove the bias and put forth good points of thought.
