Phaedrus/69. I was thinking about the fnx45 but i haven't anything about its reliability or durability but 15 rounds of .45acp is hard to pass up.

No votes for the CZ97?!

As much as I love my Ruger SR1911, I'd opt for the CZ :D

Great ergos and accuracy to boot. I haven't heard of any reliability problems yet. Also, its made with a steel frame so if you run out of "boolits" you can still hit somebody with it ;)

I've been carrying my FNP45 Tactical on duty for a couple of years now and couldn't be more pleased with it. I would not hesitate to carry it into combat.

We had the M9, M1911 and even some old .38 revolvers in our lockers. Any time I got a choice, I went with the .45. However, today I'd be hard pressed to choose between ol' slabsides and the XD, either service or tactical models.

Glock would be a good choice except the U.S. military requires manual safeties. The M&P with safety would be a good choice or maybe the Beretta PX4 Storm in .45 or back to the 1911.

I'd pick the Sig P220 simply for the track record of reliability and no manual safety.

Retired US Army: If I had to a .45.
I have a Kahr .45 which is a good carry firearm though I do like my Kahr .380.
I also have a Springfield Champion .45 1911 style.
So 2 .45 in my collection so you see where my preference is.
