Request for CSPAN Junkies

Both houses have to vote on an identical bill, right? If the Senate passes this bill hopefully the house will vote only on the original bill, without these nonsense amendments, and then it bounces back to the Senate...

Craig: 1805 adopts the same rules for all, cops or not. Enforces the legal standard we believe in across the country. We are a country of laws, and that policemen you talked about who goes to enforce those laws are respected. At the same time, his life is put in more danger by criminals being paroled. Sometimes these criminals steal the guns, or buy them, but that officer has to face them again. The great tragedy today in law is that we keep putting them on the streets again, causing the policemen to face them again. There should be no carve outs or exemptions based on job. The majority of Senators support 1805 because it brings stability to the law, and says that the person that misuses a product is liable for that misuse, not a mfg. Calls for opposition of Corzine amdt.

Ouch!

Craig just called Corzine an intentional spoiler against S. 1805!

Said he doubted the Saaenator from NJ would vote for S. 1805 and that his amendment is being tendered with the express intent of poisoning S. 1805.

I love you Larry Craig!!!

Balog: S1805 is S454 with a few tiny changes.

"when there is a willingness, when there has been a violation of law, thats found (and you can sue) (that is how the system works) " - chopped up quote, he talks too fast.

5 minutes to senator Dick durbin d-illionis

I wonder how many of Lautenberg's constituants have ever actually watched him and listened to him rant like this?

If there was a requirement to watch 40 hours of CSPAN in the 90 days before an election or you couldn't vote, there would be very few incumbents left....Wonder if they'd consider that a violation of CFR?

Jeff

Craig: Nothing in this act shall be construed to limit the right of any LEO to recover damages authorized under federal or state law that meets the req of 1805. 1805 sets in motion the old principle of tort law. Should not be guilty for misusing quality product. In the gun community, there is a responsibilty undertaken with that right. We view this as an extremely valuable right. I'm not going to keep that policemen out of the courthouse. But you must find that the laws you enforce are the same laws you must live by.

Man, Craig gets betterer and betterer...

He hits the points every time - shoving it right back. Craig: Those who keep putting those bad guys back on the street causing that police officer to meet them once again...

A stand up man.

(BTW, I'm cutting off my sig to save cyber trees...)

I set my control panel to not view sigs so that this thread would be smaller.

"you tell that officer and his family that if they are to seek redress to the people who sold that handgun to gang bangers, it is a junk lawsuit, a junk lawsuit" it is a junk lawsuit, why not sue the car mfg. too?? idiots.

What is up with this nob from Illinois? Is there some endemic brain disease amongst Democrats there or what?

Durbin: If Craig is going to oppose Corzine amdt, he is unsympathetic to dead officers. It is hard to believe that a lawsuit brought by that cop for being shot is a junk lawsuit. Craig should join me in Chicago and visit officers shot in the line of duty, so you can tell that officer and his family that if they want to seek redress from the gun dealer, that that lawsuit is a junk lawsuit. Talks about Saturday Night Specials being put on the street by dealers. We owe the cops more than words, when they risk their lives. The choice we have is clear, stand by the cops, or stand by the gun dealers. Craig says we need to stand by the mfgs, what about the men in blue. Are they worth standing by? Those who oppose the Corzine amdt, don't dial 911, dial your local gun dealer. Cause otherwise you might get a cop who might get hurt and want a lawsuit. Frist-Craig is meaningless. Corzine amdt says we'll stand behind police.

"do you want to stand with the gun dealers, or with the police officers?"

"the corzin amendment says we are going to stand by the police"

Larry Craig is back up.

he is saying the other sen. is a good guy, and wants to know why the other guy says he is a bad guy.

Hey Dick!

I did call up my gun dealer and said order me a Ruger GP-100. I will now protect myself thank you.

What a putz!

Hey All, just looked at the Congressional Record and they are saying the Frist/Craig amendment that was voted on was not the AP ammo amendment...

Frist Amdt. No. 2628; To exempt any lawsuit involving a shooting victim of John Allen Muhammad or John Lee Malvo from the definition of qualified civil liability action that meets certain requirements.

Durbin :barf: Nasty, illogical appeal to emotion

Craig: When I talk about sympathy, I talk about the impartiality of law. The law is impartial and clear. He suggests I have no passion or concern for the loss of life. That is a step too far.

Craig asked for Durbin to yeild. Durbin refused. Craig should have said "But it will only take me a moment to call him a lying son-of-a-bitch."

Bart: that was the one voted on after the frist-craig. Frist-Craig was AP.

Jeff Sessions R-Alabama

He started by saying the law should be the same for all.

"if a terrorist comes in here and shoot a police man,... you should sue the terrorist,"
"... the law has been politiced,..."

talking about how dealers sell guns legally

"the american people agree that the 2nd means you have the right to keep and bear arms, if you do not get over it" - somthing like that

This guy is saying this is an attempt to keep guns from Americans

Session was well spoken and polite, way to go Jeff!
