What do you consider to be the perfect "truck gun"?

:D

We all have our moments.
Sure, I should get $5 for each of mine. I'd be on an island rather than skulking through internet discussions looking for new ways to taste my own feet.

Now then, as to the thread, I just thought of another one that I happen to have been hauling about from time to time. Assuming one is OK with being unloaded - or even broke down for less space - I'm really enjoying my Stoeger 20 ga coach gun. In tact or broke down (fits in my Moto Guzzi side bags) and a couple-couples of shells and I'm heeled in a relatively inoffensive way when that's an issue.

Right, I know, I'm gonna lose out to running gun battles with cartel ops and ballistically protected miscreants with 22 round Glocks but I feel OK as most of my "truck gun" experience has been dispatching road kill or "just to be safe" scenarios. No quick draws to date.

Always got other stuff for "other stuff".

I haven't read the entire thread so someone may have mentioned this already, but to me, a great truck (or car) gun option is the Ruger 10/22 takedown.

I was talking to a WWII truck transport driver, European theatre, about this thread. His reply was get an M3 Grease Gun, 5 loaded magazines and a satchel bag to carry more loose ammo. He has T-5 stripes on an old set of pinks and greens hanging in his closet. In addition there are 3 medals above his Purple Heart.
Wife and I took him out to dinner last week. There aren't that many of these guys left. Those that are left have earned the right to tell their stories.

My Aunt used to graze cattle on Govt leases on the New Mexico/ Mexico border. A loaded Ruger Mini-14 was on the rifle rack of her truck at all times.
I would pack a KelTec SU-2000 in .40 w/ Glock mags. Cheap, compact, good to 100 yards, no tears if it gets "lost".
