American Riflemen have protected freedom for 232 years now. This match hopes to promote and honor that tradition of marksmanship by getting folks out to the range for some fun and challenging shooting during the month we celebrate our independence.

This match is open to any and EVERY 22 caliber rimfire rifle including 22 mag.
You may submit an entry with as many rifles as you wish.

Scoring (Hopefully this will not be too complicated)

There are three columns per target page. Five Dots per column. Only the best column counts.

Take 5 shots at the largest dot. 1 point is scored for each hit, touching counts. If ALL five shots are CLEARLY INSIDE the black a bonus of 5 points is awarded. 10 points possible.

Take 5 shots the second smaller dot below. 2 points are awarded for each hit. If ALL 5 shots are CLEARLY inside the black a bonus of 10 points is awarded. 20 points possible.

Take 3 shots at the third smallest dot. Each hit is worth 5 points and if ALL 3 are CLEARLY inside the black a bonus of 15 points is Awarded. 30 points possible.

Take 1 shot at the fourth smallest dot. A hit is worth 10 points. If the shot is CLEARLY inside of the black a bonus of 10 points is awarded. 20 points possible

Take 1 shot at the smallest dot. A hit is worth 20 points. If the shot is CLEARLY inside of the dot DOUBLE the score of the ENTIRE COLUMN.

A perfect score would be 200

I added a 7 & 25 yard YOUTH division to the scoring categories (thanks to schleprok62 for the excellent idea).

I've also expanded the Mossyback (55 or older) division to include a 25 yard scoped class.

Best of luck to all. Get out and shoot!

Stubbicatt, I suppose if you don't feel sufficiently challenged by using the rifle, a handgun would be acceptable. The same rules apply.

I just reread the scoring Mo... and I hope you have some new Energizers in yer calculator... LOL...

This is gonna be fun again this month... :)

Thanks again Mo...

Outstanding!!

Looks like you've got every imaginable base covered - this will be another month of fun! Good plan Mo!!

My trip to the range thursday... didn't have a lot of time to really put a lot of rounds down the lane...

Not the best... Good luck to all... :rolleyes:

Scoring Clarification.

Schleprok; Nice shooting but... you got too many holes in the target.

Largest=5 shots
Second=5 shots
Third = 3 shots
Fourth = 1 shot
Smallest = 1 shot

15 shots total per column.

That 597 shoots impressively. Using the best holes the first column using the Remington GB looks like you would have gotten a perfect score. Based on your targets I'd say the shooting part will be easier than deciphering my scoring method.

LOL!!!! OK... my bad... I was thinking it was 5 shots per... oh well... I'll get out and redo them... and I was in kind of a hurry so... that's my goof.... :) Still, not as easy as last month...

:)

k this is my first match

so to use my browning i set up at 25 yards the shoot 5,5,3,1,1 in order and i shoot all the columns like that?
then i post a pic of my target on here or do i gots to send 'er in?

Woot I get to do this one again! :cool:

I'll be at the range in the morning... Hope to do good :)

Paint, You got it. We only count your best column. Post, IM or email me a pic of your target. If unable PM me for an my address and you can mail it to me.

Flyrodder: I'm gunna be a hard arse and call your score a 150. It appears the middle and fourth dots have shots touching white. "Missed it by that much." Still mighty impressive and plenty of month left to "upgrade" your target, though I'd be VERY happy to match the one you posted.

Ok... Had a fun time with this one :) I went out and to try 3 differen't ammo "brands" but at 25 yds it doen't appear that they make much difference outside of the group moving around a bit. This was using the Savage Model 19 NRA with a rear peep and front hooded post.

The first two columns were shot with Remington made by Eley (3106-30260?). The second two used Remington std vel lrn target. The last two used Winchester T22 Target.

Scoring left to right: 80, 80, 75

Scoring left to right: 150 :what:, 45, 49

It's hard to see in the second picture but on the top dot in the first column the lower right hole is really two shots and in the third and fourth dots the shots do touch :evil:

After today I really think with a little luck I *could* get a perfect score so I gotta buy some more ammo and go back out later this month :cool:

Eluwak: Excellent! I've got you and Flyrodder leading the bolt divisions. You guys have set the bar pretty high. I'm guessing most of us won't manage it but will have fun trying.

Johnson, John (both of em), MalH, Dr Twigs and a Schleprok (if he takes his abacus to the range with him to keep track of his shots.. :neener::p:D) have shown they can be competitive with this target. I'd like to see what Fast Frank can do with his Marlins (60 & 39) too.

Keep up the good work and take a Junior out shooting even if they don't submit a target.
