N1150X. To get the "bonus points the shot must be fully inside of the black. If un-torn black can be seen around the hole it counts.

Feed back so far is that this is a tough match. It looks like anything over 30 is going to be darn good. Most are coming in around the mid 20s. The best two, so far, are posted above. the 33 is scoped and the 31 is iron sights.

Printing 5 targets as I type. Looks like it'll be a toughie for me as I have been shooting 25yd scoped and my best 4 shot 4 group average is .281

I took it out again and didnt do any better. Used Federal 510 and Federal bulk and the bulk had the higher score. Of course it couldve been just me that was off.

I made it out to the desert today with lots of ammo and targets.

On the third try with the CZ I shot a 40.

On the fourth try I just missed getting some bonus points.

I was able to get a 30 and two 36's with the Ruger with the Green Mountain running boar barrel.

I couldn't get over 30 with the Ruger with the Kimber barrel and Simmons scope. Don't know if it was the ammo or the scope or just me.
I was trying some different ways of resting the gun on the rest and it was a little breezy while I was trying for score. I might try a different scope and ammo next time out.
Shot a lot of ammo today and had a good time.Patrick

Awesome range report Spinnerblade

Poncaguy, I've actually had a few requests for a shorter range category. Hmmm, something to consider. Perhaps a 25 feet from any unrested field position? Feedback? Too late in the game?

I may have to try Spinnerblade's trick... give my ammo a drink of Gatorade! Maybe the bullets will fly better; it gets hot here in the sunny Southland.

Oh-my-gosh, I'm seeing some fine displays of gun control in these target images.

I didn't see anything in the rules that says you can't fold the target before you shoot it... I'm gonna get me a 75 with one shot! :D

The gatorade containers are great for 550 bulk packs, much more durable and if they get knocked over only a small amount spills out. Just make sure they are completly dry, and I have started to drill holes in the cap for insurance, before you fill them or you will get corrosion.Patrick

I took 1 of these targets with me to the range today, and managed what looks to me to be a 36. I shot it with my scoped Izhmash Biathlon Basic with ammo I'd never used before. Remington Standard Velocity in a white box with what looked like an NSN, perhaps CMP ammo?

Anyway, here's the rifle and the target

I'll take a few more next time I hit the range.

Went out today and got some quality time in with my rifle, this target, and the sun blinding me. My first target was a disgrace but helped me sight in at 25 yards. Couldn't do better than a 26 tho :( This was harder than I thought it would be. Them bottom guys are almost a fuzz :banghead:

Rifle: Savage Model 19 NRA (iron sight)
Ammo: Winchester Xpert Hollow Point (it was cheap at Wallyworld :D )
Distance: 25 Yards
Temp: 90-94 F
Humidity: 500%
Wind: None
ToD: 1900
Direction: West

Yikes,

Hi Mr Ouija,
Welcome to the June Rimfire Match. Looking at your join date and the # of posts I am inclined to believe your have been lurking in the shadows mostly. ;) Maybe Mo finely got something to lure you out:cool: Interesting looking rifle. Biathlon you say. You two sure do play a sweet tune together. Don't think we have heard from that 10yo young lady yet though.:D I am hoping to get to the range in time. Again welcome, can't wait to see a target with that rifle's favorite ammo.
Hi Eluwak,
You posted while I was writing to Mr Ouija. Great targets as far as I am concerned, especially iron.:scrutiny: Thats what I will be going on now that I traded the Marlin 883. The M39 with aperture. Problem is I am not the judge. Love these FUN matches.

You guessed right, I joined THR back when I started reloading and never really joined the community. What brought me over this time was a post on RimfireCentral's fun matches section, about this challenge, so I figured I'd give it a go.

As for the rifle, she's not too finicky. She'll eat anything I feed her and love it. I even had her shooting Winchester Xperts into great groups at 50yards, so it seems anything is possible with this rifle. The toggle bolt and sweet trigger make her a dream to shoot.

Thanks for the kind words! I'll be trying to shoot some better targets in the near future!

O.K. Never got into one of these matches before , but I am setting up my rifle for 100yd .22 matches locally. Just had to try it one time since I've shot a 3/4" group at 100 yards.............once.

Rifle is Remington 540X with Weaver T-16 scope. 73 degrees, wind 2-4 mph gusting . Wolf Match Target. From a bench of course , at 50 yards.

Center bottom hole definitely shows black but the lower right tore the white just a bit. I count 55 points?

Mr Ouija's targets are real easy to read, laid on white paper. To help Mo score these things, maybe we could put a light behind the target? I appreciate Mo's willingness to do this. Let's try to make it easy as we can.

Johnson, you guys are taking a pounding over there. Hope all is well with you and your household. Let us know if you need any more sponges or buckets, or...

Thanks! This is pretty fun and quite a learning experience :)

I hope to get out and get another session in before they're due so we'll see if I can improve some

I have targets printed but I can only shoot 25yd with a sure thing back stop. Out at 50 yds if the bullet doesn't dig in it could end up pretty far off.

I saw what appeared to be a great place to shoot. Got to stop and really check it out next time I'm by that way!

I'm still looking for a 25 yd indoor range, everything here is 20 yd.
Had the 1929 M52 peep sighted out yesterday at 20 yd, didn't shoot
this target tho. I have a couple more places to check on.

Shot my 1946 Iver Johnson Super Sealed Eight for the first time also.
This was an unfired gun until yesterday. Did pretty good I thought (15 ft)
with a couple minor issues I will address.

Didn't get a chance to shoot the M39 as my daughter snagged it this time
around.

I am putting together a couple rifles and won't make a trip to outdoor range
for awhile.

A reminder

We've seen some impressive targets posted here and the participation has definitely increased. Once you have shot a target that you want to enter (you may upgrade later if you shoot a better one) please email it to me with the following information

-Forum name or name you want posted in the results
-Rifle, make, model, vintage if known
-Sights
-Ammo
-Position
-Distance
-Conditions (outdoors, windy, temperature...)

It makes it a lot easier for me to keep track of who shot what.

It is OK to self score as well as some pictures might not be clear enough for me to score precisely. We're all "High Roaders" here and this match is about challenging yourself, getting some shooting in and having some good safe fun.

It looks like great fun, Mo, and I'll try to enter.

Some of the rifles I've seen in this thread are intimidating; I'll do my best with my scoped (otherwise stock) scoped Mossberg autoloader, circa 1955. :uhoh:
