Ambidextrous1: We need more autoloaders entered. The bolt guys "should" post the best targets but past matches have proven that Autoloaders (Fast Frank) and Leverguns (Dr Twigs, Johnmcl, MalH) can produce VERY impressive results.

When I post the results I'll break it down so we can compare similar rifle/sight combos. Autos vs. Autos, bolts vs. bolts. Hopefully we'll get at least a few entries in each category. Right now most of the entries are from the Bolt shooters.

So folks, don't let what a scoped bolt rifle can do keep you from entering your 50+ year old squirrel gun with irons sights.

Had a great day at the range today. I started out tense but a few magazines of shooting 9mm downrange calmed me down. Didnt group too bad with that either (CZ 75B SA). Ill let Mo post my official score.

Your difficulty is (sorry...seems to be) a POA to POI matter. Sight your rifle to POI precisely 1" high. Then, take POA on the line under the dots. Regardless the dot's size, your POA is the line under the dots. Your shot-to-shot POIs will become exceptionally consistent. Try it and repost.

Edit to add:

Clean the bore, and re-season it before taking aim to measure for precision.

Poncaguy, I've actually had a few requests for a shorter range category. Hmmm, something to consider. Perhaps a 25 feet from any unrested field position? Feedback? Too late in the game?

Ill be in for this but there's only 7, 15, 25 and 50 yard spots at my range (pistol side anyway).

Thanks I'll give it a go if I can get out!

I fired a 30 yesterday; target not submitted; I can do better.

Ammunition: CCI Standard Velocity.
Rifle: Mossberg 151MC, autoloader, circa 1952.
Range: 50 Yards.
Scope: Hawken Hunter, 6-18x30, set@14X
Temperature: 88 degrees F.
Wind: 10 to 12 o'clock, 2 to 10 mph.

I'll try again this week, with better ammunition and (hopefully) less wind. :)

All right, I've been Dissed

Hi All,
This past Saturday I think it was I watched Jerry Miculek on TV and he shot 12 shots from his 625 better at 15yds BLINDFOLDED:eek: than I got Friday with my .22 at 50yds scoped!! That man is feenominol.:D The shots were rapid fire and of course with one reload using a full moon clip. First was a 5yd group and then the 15yd group. I had a horrid day and the best score I could muster was a 26 in three tries.:barf: Hope to get in one more session. Will try the M39 with the Skinner sites, nothing to lose:rolleyes:.
Sounds like a pretty good match.

Hi all! Just found this site last week and I love it already. Havnt had time to do a lot of reading yet but will definately try to run some ammo through my 10/22 this weekend. This thread has me pumped! Ill post my results regardless of how pitiful. Must find more time for shooting and chatting.

Ruger 10/22 with Volquartsen barrel
Leupold 4.5-14 with custom reticle
5 yr old federal 711B :cuss:
2 saw horses with plywood top
50 yds
wind 5-8 and variable

Like OH MY GOSH! This ammo shot better than this when new. Ill do a little sorting this evening and try again tomorrow.

This was great fun... I might try again with the Glenfield later this week... I am definitely looking forward to next month...
I should have the Model Five ready to go by weeks end... That I think I will be shooting open sights with... (if my eyes let it - LOL )

Could someone do me a huge favor? I need someone to type out the entire link so I can copy/paste it. I can't click on links because it will freeze my computer.

I couldn't get the link to un link so I put a space between the h and the ttp (http... went to h ttp...) so you will have to deleat the space for the link to work

I tried this yesterday but shot so horribly that I am too ashamed to post my targets. I'll try again today. I am still trying to figure out just what I need to do to get the sights on my 452 where I want them. I have not messed with them yet and they shoot ~1.5" high a 25yds.

Raise the front sight.

Hi all,

I'm back from an overseas trip. I just fired off my 39A target to Mo. I have a smokin' boltie that's next up for this shoot.

Mo, thanks again for the leadership,
