I shot this two weeks ago, but should have read the directions. I thought it was 15 shots for the whole page. D'oh! I've still got next weekend to try to do it right though. I thought I'd get in early before all the good shooters started posting, too late. ;) You guys are doing some serious shooting.

I appreciate the kind words guys. I was a little unimpressed with her until I got some range time in. This was my first time shooting her and I couldn't be happier. Now to refinish the wood and clean up the sights to turn her into a looker as well as a shooter.

If I get some more range time before the end of the month, I'll shoot with the Biathlon Basic scoped @ 50 yds too. Don't expect a 200 from that one, for some reason the 50 yd targets get bad with every ammo I've shot through it.

Well, this is my first entry. Picked up my Savage Mark II FVT. Iron sights at 25 yd.

I thought the fourth target needed 3 shots. Oops. I blew most of the bonuses but I'm fairly happy that I had no clean misses. I mean that fourth one was hard to even make out. I meant to make a cover to hide all but the dot I'm shooting at but forgot to do so. Used Win T22.

Finally got around to shooting my own match... Safe to say I'm not in contention unless nobody enters the lever category... Struggled big time but at least I got to put some lead down range.

Nice shootin' Plinky. How do you like the FVT? I came very close to ordering one for myself.

I'm hitting the range tomorrow, so maybe another entry for me if I get any time on the Biathlon.

Thanks Mr. Ouija.

The FVT is pretty good although a scoped varmint model would be cheaper and suit most people better. The length of pull is on the short side. I'd like to change stocks eventually. The Williams sight was really bound up at first but with some oil and working, it seems to be coming around. There's plenty of room for upgrades. In the end though, I'm sure it will shoot better than I can hold.

I still need to play with the accu-trigger. I think it is set at max.

If I could be sure of getting one as good as yours, I would trade it for a Vostok CM-2 in a heartbeat.

On the accu-trigger, normally they come set at the lowest, which for the Rimfires seems pretty heavy. You can lower it by removing the spring and cutting off a coil or so.

As for the CM-2s, they're pretty universally good shooters, but lack in the accessory department. They've got an accessory rail, but it doesn't accept Anschutz sized accessories. It has an 18mm globe, but doesn't take the Anschutz inserts for an 18mm globe. The barrel diameter is different, so most clamp on globes and extension tubes won't be an easy install either. Still, its a lot less money than an Anschutz and I doubt I could tell the difference shooting either.

You're right about the trigger. The manual states that it should come set at minimum and you can see the tail of the spring hanging down behind the trigger. So I didn't bother taking it out of the stock. It's not a bad trigger at all but I would have guessed it at 4 lb. Could be lighter.

I want to give it one more outing before I disrupt it anyway. I had planned to shoot another Match target today but didn't get my target stand finished. Might have to wait for next month's Match.

Took off early from work today and shot a second target for the match. I did cover all dots except the one I was shooting. This cleaned up my sight picture. Hope that's not cheating.

The second group on this target was my third of the day and resembles the third group from my previous outing. I think I must peak on the third group.

The final shot is right on the edge of the dot and I don't know how to call it for scoring.

I also shot a group each at 50 and 100 yd. They are pretty well proportional to the 25 yd groups. I'm sure the rifle will do better.

Hey, JustSayMo, What kind of lever are you shooting?

Plinky, a Marlin Model 39A Mountie.

I'm desperately clinging to the belief that I can still shoot with the stock open sights though my eyes are telling me differently. I let a young man shoot it at the range and I was amazed how much better he was able to do... Getting older sucks sometimes.

Man, that is a challenge. I can group OK with open sights on the right target but I don't think this is a good target for open sights. Not a picnic with aperture sights for that matter. I can't wait to see what you come up with next month.

OK, finally got blonde #1 (wife) to the range, she did really well. Out shot me even if she didnt get the big bonus. She wants those bonus points really bad so i told her I would let yall make the call,(Yall dont have to sleep with her....or not). Forgot to mark the column, its the far right one and the little dot in question
