Federal bulk pack from Wally World or anyplace else that sells 'em. About $10.00 for 550 or so rounds. Good stuff.

Thank you very much! Ive been wanting a semi-auto partly for the "fun factor" and cause i have a strong dislike for squirrels.

Now i'm gonna have to get 2 .22s, one semi-auto and one bolt or wheel gun to get rid of the 575ish rounds of thunderbolt i have.

Does a bear crap in the woods?

If there was ever a universal round for every shooter, it would have to be the .22lr.

My dad's first gun was a used bolt action .22 - I've got it in the safe.
My mother's first gun was a single shot .22 - I've got it in the safe. (She could out-shoot my dad any day).
My first gun was a little .22 pump. I've got it in the safe.
I have at least 3 others with sentimental value, plus several more for good measures.

I killed my first two deer with a .22
Untold numbers of squirrels, coyotes, snakes, and other small varmints.

Only the good lord knows how many bricks of .22lr me and my friends went through when we were kids...and amazingly, we are all alive, have both eyes, and not turn into mass murderers or terrorist.

I have owned three but only have two now
Henry H001
Ruger MkIII 22/45
Savage Model 64

p.s. DKM why do you have a mosin nagant picture on a .22lr thread?

I would just like to say that i am the proud owner of a new Savage Model 64.
That brings my current number of firearms up to 5, all longguns.

i must say i am more curouise about the folks who own no guns?
and a few years ago this house would have been lacking a .22 too. dad has had several over the years, but the years between the lose of his charter arms ar-7 and the arrival of my ruger 10/22, we had no .22.
but i do agree its not a gun collection without at least one .22 *grin*
i like to shoot cans. *sigh* it make me happy when they fall down!

Remington 552 Speedmaster.
Winchester 320
Winchester 99 Thumb Trigger Model
Stevens/Springfield model 15
Browning Buckmark Camper
Ruger Single Six

The .22L.R. is a so good and cheap caliber, it's difficult not have a gun in this caliber.

I actualy used 3 .22L.R. weapons :
_ Bolt action carbine CZ452
_ S&W revolver model 18 4"
_ CZ KADET pistol

My 2 or 3 next weapons will be .22L.R.

One of them will be a GSG-5

Currently own two 10/22s. I bought one mainly for my little sister, the other was my grandfather's.

Have a 1911 frame at the smith getting rebuilt, I'm going to top it off with an AA kit (If I can find one in stock somewhere when I have money), also planning on building a dedicated rimfire AR15 after the first of the year (I've got a few parts collected now - biggest holdup is the bbl and bolt).

Rimfire is boring. But rimfire is cheap. With the amount of .22 I have on hand, both of the rimfires I'm building could pay for themselves in ammo savings before I have to buy more.

Its weird, I dont shoot my 10/22s, but I cant stop buying .22 ammo. Guess I'm looking forward to my 1911 and AR15.

If your only .22 is a Marlin 60 you are doing just fine. I recently acquired a Marlin 60 to compliment my Marlin 39A. It does not have all the accessories and bling available that a 10/22 has but it is one surprisingly underated, affordable, and right out of the box accurate .22 caliber firearm. Good choice.

3 at the moment:

Marlin 60
10/22
22/45 MkIII

My local shop still has that Marlin 75 in stock when I go in there tomorrow I might just walk out with it.
