Sounds like I am going shooting tomorrow with a friend so no matter what the wind is, I will have one posted also. Winds at 15-20 mph tommorow. This all assuming my wife doesn't go into labor, she is dilated four.:)

this target really stunk it up:barf:

i was using a marling 17HMR bolt gun, BSA Sweet 17 scope 6-18x40, 100 yds. from a rest, wind 15-20 mph right to left, first two columns using 17gr hornady v-max far right column using federal 17 gr v-shok.

don't know why but the federals were all over the place, i shot 10 sighter shots and all of them went a different direction than the hornady's did.

but even with a total score of only 12 i guess i still win b/c it is the only entry:neener:

We still have one more day.lol

For next month, If this stays around. we will bring in the targets. Maybe 30 yards for irons and 65 for scope.

If no one competes next month then it will be gone.

It is supposed to snow tomorrow, but I will get out and give you some competition. :neener:

Here is the forcast tomorrow.

Mostly cloudy. Breezy. Much colder. A chance of rain showers early in the morning...then a chance of rain late in the morning. A slight chance of rain showers and snow showers in the afternoon. High around 40. Temperature steady or slowly falling in the afternoon. Southwest wind 15 to 25 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph increasing to 40 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.

Here is my target for March. We are not making the .17HMR's look very good.

Name-Clint C
Rifle-Savage Mako
Sights-3x9 Scope
Ammo-CCI FMJ
position-benchrest with bags
distance-100yds
Conditions-24 mph wind with 32mph gust, cloudy, 38 deg
Score-17 lousy points

I know I can do better with better conditions, but I procrastinated and waited till the last day, and it is windy as heck. I lost track of where I was shooting. I couldn't see the holes even with my spotting scope. so when I would reload I forgot where I was shooting, and when I walked up to the target I realized I could only take four more shots at the target. so one of the circles I never even shot at because I was to my limit of 15 shots.lol

Okay, this is plain FUNNY!!!! Oh man....lol I understand bad conditions though.:neener::p:D I now have better reason to say that .17s are hyped:p:D

I need to go submit my target for the .22 rimfire match or i will be out of it!

no come on now the 17s are more than hype

on a good day with good ammo, which i thought federal was supposed to be, EVEN I can punch out a 1 inch whole at 100 all day

we will try to do better next month

Yes the .17's are great and very accurate. If the target was at 50 yards it would have done just fine for me today. Now with the gusty winds the way they were today, and at 100 yards, it did get pushed around. Any of my shots would have killed a squirrel at 100 yards today, and I must say that is very good if I was starving on a windy day.:)
