I thought you could only use assault weapons to spray bullets from the hip and kill children, or is that only when you're shooting at an airplane from a mile away
I'm not sure but I think automatic assault weapons are given to kids to kill cops with. The weapons flood the streets, thus clinging to the children as they cross the street to go to school.

They then force the individual to go on a rampage. The assault is automatic; hence the term "automatic assault weapon".

Reed offering the Boxer gun lock amendment from last year... no idea if it has any scary changes. Craig objects to it.

Craig says it will be allowed if it was exactly like last year's amendment; but it isn't and so they want time to look at it first before they agree to let it be offered without objection. Reed resumes whining.

BR,

The Kohl version or the Boxer version?

Rember Herb Kohl offered his version last year and IT was the one that passed, not Boxers.

Reed complaining that the Repubs would not have the temerity to tell the widow of one of the victims that her lawsuit was a junk suit. I would have no problem telling the widow that she is filing her suit against the wrong people. Here goes Reed about how the gun is at fault.

The latest from VPC. Found it lurking in my inbox this morning:

Dear Violence Policy Center Action Network Member:

Right now the U.S. Senate is considering legislation to shield the gun industry
from some civil liability (S. 397). This would make the firearms industry, which
is already exempt from federal health and safety regulation, the most protected consumer product manufacturer in America!

The Senate needs to hear that protecting the gun industry should not be their
priority. Also urge them to support the Feinstein amendment to regulate 50
caliber anti-armor sniper rifles.

Please call your Senator (as well as Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN))
through the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121, or look up your Senator's
contact information here:

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

TELL THEM:

1. OPPOSE S. 397. The gun industry is already exempt from federal health and safety regulation and does not deserve protection from legal liability for its negligent or reckless conduct.

2. SUPPORT THE FEINSTEIN AMENDMENT TO REGULATE 50 CALIBER ANTI-ARMOR SNIPER RIFLES UNDER THE NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT.

For more details on the legislation and more information on the clear and
present danger presented by 50 caliber sniper rifles, visit the VPC website at
www.vpc.org.

THANK YOU!
:fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:

PLEASE Please please call or email your senator. The link is here: Senate Contact info

Also the NRA has a great contact info page Right Here

BR,

The Kohl version or the Boxer version?

The Kohl version. Craig said if that same bill was offered as an amendment they would allow it to have a vote without objection. Reed is still complaining about Craig objecting and about gun stuff in general so I'm guessing it is different and the difference might be important.

Oh please get Reed to Shut UP!

Does he really think he is representing the people. The LAW has been so twisted this law he is spewing needs to be re written. :banghead:

50 CALIBER ANTI-ARMOR SNIPER RIFLES
That's odd, almost sounds like they're giving up the airplane angle. It's a bit late in the game to be changing their story.

I sent my senator an amendment about repealing the import parts ban.

And I let GOA know about it.

If they're going to allow amendments, allow something like that. :cuss:

Jack Reed

Now I fully understand where the term congress critter comes from. He reminds me of Mayor Quimby from the Simpson's.

Now Reed is running down the 1911 and saying the Beretta is a better weapon to support the idea that the DoD doesn't need to buy from U.S. manufacturers. Talk about heresy...

Now Reed is running down the 1911 and saying the Beretta is a better weapon to support the idea that the DoD doesn't need to buy from U.S. manufacturers. Talk about heresy...

Well, with his expertise on firearms, surely he would know which is better.

Craig is reading a letter from Beretta in support of S397.

EDIT:Craig allowed Reed to interrupt him, and Reed is (untruthfully) claiming that Beretta is only concerned about strict liability, not negligence.

Corzine tried to submit an amendment. He either doesn't know about the tactic being used, or is trying to make an issue out of it.

EDIT: He can't submit an amendment, because Frist's "fill the tree" amendment is under consideration indefinitely.

Jon Corzine

Jon Corzine (D-NJ) just got shot down big time by Craig. Democrats are getting desperate and making mistakes while Republicans are schooling them on Senate Rules.

So the R's are going to keep debating Frist's Filling the tree amendments until Friday morning? Good tactics if you ask me.

I think he really doesn't know what's going on. He's trying to make the case for his amendment that won't be voted on, rather than expressing outrage at the tree filling. No doubt DiFi or Teddy will go up and express some studied outrage about the evil tactics shortly.

Wow, the VPC is run by children!

Hah, Corzine is up there basically whining that he can't do anything about this passing so he wants his amendments.

Whoa, did you just state that I have a bizarre fascination to
kill people?
Suprised? Many big city limo liberals are overcome with terror that they're about to be murdered when they see a gun in any context. So obviously they would think anyone who owns guns kills people constantly. I am not joking at all by the way.
