Weatherby MK V in 30-06
Marlin 1894c
S&W mod 10 3" sq butt
Ruger 20g SxS
Ruger 77/22 MK II all weather coating with v-bolt

This is diffucult. I have to go with 6.
1. Ruger huntsman .22LR/.22mag 7 1/2 " bbl with express sights--mostly for the trap line.
2. Ruger 10-22 with a powers trigger kit heavy bbl.
3. Remington 1100 3" with 28" bbl remchokes and 18 1/2 " buck barrel /sights.
4. Ruger Redhawk in 5 1/2 " or S&W Mod 624 .44 SP 6".
5. Remington .222 Mod 7.
6. Remington Mod 7 in rebarreled 18 1/2 " to .358 Winchester. Or Rem Classic .35 Whelen Mod 700.

Hmmm...
Weatherby Mark V .257 WBY Magnum
Glock 26
HK P30
Colt Detective Special
Ruger New Vaquero .45 Colt.

1. Drilling Rifle, such as a Blaser D99 in 12/76, .308/.30-06 and .223 or a similar combination. A shotgun barrel, a barrel for small game and a barrel for medium/big game. That would cover 99% of all hunting situations.
2. Mauser 98 in 8x57IS - a modern version of course. Reliable, idiot-proof and loads of options and parts available. Besides I ju
3. I suppose I should have a handgun so a S&W 686 in .357
4. a Shotgun in 12/76. I'm not sure actually what kind. I suppose a double barreled would be enough and the most reliable.
5. I would leave a slot open for now... probably for a military style Assault rifle.

From what I have now:

Bolt Action .308 (my Savage 10)
AR15 (pick one)
9mm CCW (my XDM Compact)
12GA Shotgun (my BPS)
.22 Rifle (my Ruger 10/22)

1) Mossberg 500 18.5" for home defense with additional skeet or hunting barrels
2) S&W M&P Pro CORE 5" 9mm with red dot for competition and home defense
3) S&W M&P Shield 9mm for concealed carry
4) Ruger 10/22 Takedown Stainless with flash suppressor for fun
5) Undecided

1. Glock 26 (doubles as carry gun and "combat" sidearm)
2. Ruger 10/22
3. Ithaca 37 (w/ deerslayer short barrel and long barrel)
4. SKS
5. Browning A-Bolt in .30-06

Ok...from my collection:

1. Glock 26 Gen4. My EDC
2. 4" Colt Python. Tuned, ported and hard chrome plated by Mag-na-port over 20 years ago...and still perfect IMHO
3. LWRC SPR 5.56, cerakoted, Giesle trigger, w/Trijicon ACOG/RMR combo
4. Ruger Gunsite Scout w/Leupold scout scope.
5. Ruger 77/17 w/ 3x9 Leupold.

Ah yes, the semi annual 'if you could only...' thread. I like these threads

1. A bolt action 22lr with a heavy barrel.
2. A S&W 22lr revolver with at least a 4 inch barrel.
3. A Ruger SP-101 in .357
4. A Browing OU 12 gauge
5. A Winchester M70 in 30-06.

Got it all covered.

Yay, another gun nerd thread!

I have: 1. S&W M&P-15 AR

Still on the list:
2. S&W M&P 9mm
3. A modern 1911
4. Mossberg 500 with multiple barrels
5. Reproduction American Flintlock Long Rifle

My Marlin 60
My 1895 45-70
My Benelli Nova 12
My Stainless SBH 44mag
My Mod 70 CSLT 30-06 .....or.......
My XD-45

No dream guns here. If I only get 5, there's a reason why and I want 5 I already own and have faith in. Those would be my choices for "living on my own" which is how I view threads like this. When I'm limited like that I pick the 5 that will RELIABLY cover everything from squirrels to Grizzly.

  1. Mossberg 500 12 guage (18 in barrel, 26 in barrel and rifled barrel) (it's still one gun, HA!)
  2. Walther P99 AS 9 mm
  3. Colt 1980XSE 1911 .45acp (I'm still trying to decide which 1911 to get, but this is it for now).
  4. SigSauer P232 .380acp, aluminum receiver with blued slide
  5. Ruger Mini14

Really hard to restrict it to 5. I have 3 of these now.

If I could only have 5,:(:fire:

The Practical 5.
(1) Glock 19.
(2) M&P 45c.
(3) Mossberg 500 18.5" barrel, 26" barrel.
(4) AR-15 with 16" 5.56 upper, .22lr upper, 20" .50 Beowolf upper, 16" .300 black out upper.(I know it's cheating, if I could not change uppers, I'd get a Arsenal ak in 7.62.)
(5)Remington 700 scoped .308

Fun 5.
(1)Colt Detective Special.
(2)CZ 452 .22lr.
(3)PKM (hey this is a fun list, I can dream.)
(4)Colt Rail Gun 1911.
(5)M1 carbine.

Okay. I can do this...

1. S&W Model 10/64/13/65 round butt with a 3 inch heavy barrel .38 Special/.357 Magnum. (I have a .357 Magnum S&W Model 13-3.)

2. S&W Model 36/37/38/60/49/638/649 in .38 Special/.357 Magnum. (I have a nickel-plated .38 Special S&W Model 37.)

3. Ruger Mini-14 in .223 Remington/5.56X45mm NATO of recent vintage. (I have a blued 581-series Ruger Mini-14 with an ATI Strikeforce stock with forward handgrip, flashlight, Weaver K2.5 in Ruger rings, Sightmaster red dot. I'm thinking of having the barrel shortened to 16.5 inches, threaded, and fitted with a flash hider that will mount a suppressor.)

4. Remington 870 Express 12 gauge with 28 inch VRB with RemChoke and an 18/20 inch barrel with IC choke. (Got one with the VRB and a 20 inch barrel with rifle sights. Thinking about a Blackhawk M4-type stock and matching forearm.)

5. a. Marlin 1894C .357 Magnum carbine. (Gotta get me one a these!) Or,
5. b. H&R .357 Magnum single shot carbine. Or,
5. c. H&R .500 S&W single shot carbine. (For those times when you have to kill a truck.)

ECS

Glock 26 - everyday carry
Tikka T3 270 - deer rifle
Remington 870 - wing shooter
HK p30 40 SW - home defense gun and hunting sidearm
Ruger 10/22 - fun gun

Wow, it took 37 posts for someone to mention a Marlin 39 .22 lever.

Put me down for three JM Marlin 39M's and two 39A's, limited editions & engraved if possible.

After 2 years or so of everyone having their 5 survival, blingy and black guns, they will all remember how much fun it was to shoot a walnut-stocked lever .22. At that point I will be able to trade for whatever the heck I want or need, or can rent them out for big bucks by the hour.

Hmmm....this time around:

LaRue Tactical PredatOBR with 18" barrel
Ruger 10/22
S&W 629-4 with 4" barrel
Glock 19
Glock 21

My general purpose:

1. CZ 75 BD Police with Kadet 22LR conversion.

2. Remington 11-87 Youth 20ga.

3. Ruger 10/22 with Redjacket ZK-22 bullpup stock.

4. Rock River Arms 5.56 NATO 7.5" Pistol with Tac Con 3MR trigger, Sig arm brace and a CMMG 22LR Echo conversion.

5. Chiappa Rhino 200DS .357 mag.

the semi annual 'if you could only...' thread. I like these threads

I thought these came around bi-weekly, not semi-annually........:D:neener::p

But they are still interesting to see how many would pick cheap everyday guns instead of adding something a little more fun/upscale/custom

There was a time not long ago when I felt like five guns was "more than enough" for the practical owner. Now I feel like being limited to five guns leaves me with a few tough decisions...

1. Glock 19 - an EDC and enjoyable range pistol
2. CZ 452 - quality 22LR rifle
3. Winchester M70 EW .270 - hunting
4. Colt 6920LE - HD
5. Browning Citori White Lightning 12ga - hunting/clays
